Last week, a fan brought a script to Norman Spinrad for an autograph. It was the script for an episode of Star Trek: TOS that had never been filmed, and had been thought lost for 45 years, entitled "He Walked Among Us".

Well, it seems the folk behind Star Trek: Phase II are interested in filming it, with Spinrad directing. Spinrad, who was also the author of the classic episode, "The Doomsday Machine", apparently hopes to get Shatner involved (though, thankfully, not as Kirk).

I had heard of Star Trek Phase II being mentioned in the 90's.

It looks like some people have actually pulled off filming episodes.

That's kind of cool, considering that otherwise, there is no new Trek.

though the site is super slow, their project sounds cool:

If IRC, Phase II was shelved and the first episode was used for "ST:TMP". So shouldn't the crew be wearing the pajama uniforms? I'm just saying. Other than that as a TOS Geek....

SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!!

"They say there's no Devil, Jim. But I saw him... right out of hell! And He walks among us. They call him Uncle Miltie. Or sometimes Bayne for short."

As a fellow TOS geek, I have no problem with the pajamas being retconned out of existence.

Actually, Phase II was meant to consist of Seasons 4 and 5 of Episodes, and run on the same timeline as TOS. The pilot script was "refurbished" into STTMP.

The good people at Phase II (originally Star Trek: New Voyages until Eugene Roddenberry came on board and allowed them to use the new name) have done a great job of keeping with the feel of TOS. Cawley and crew have been doing awesome work for years.

If you haven't watched any of their Episodes, I recommend (for you Spinrad fans) "In Harm's Way" - A Phase II (then New Voyages) sequel to Doomsday Machine.

Also, World Enough and Time (featuring George Takei) as well as "To Serve All My Days" with Walter Koenig.

You'll also find a ton of Star Trek alums in the 2 parter, Blood and Fire. David Gerrold finally gets his on screen roll (as a corpse no less!) and among others, Denise Crosby as the distant relative of Tasha Yar.

Their newest work (still undergoing clean up and post production I think) is "The Child", which will be familiar to TNG fans who remember the premise being used on TNG, only with Troi having the alien baby.

Finally "Enemy: Starfleet" is an awesome script and features Trek veteran BarBara Luna. It's her second appearance in a Phase II episode.

I hope Mr. Spinrad is happier with this final product than he was with TDM. Since this time he'll have direct input it should help.
