Ghenghis Ska has created a fantastic fan sourcebook to running your Star Wars d20 game in the Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) era. 118 page pdf, full color, heavily illustrated, 8 MB (forget it if you're on dial-up, LOL).

If you're like me, and hated the prequels, but loved the KOTOR CRPG, then this is the perfect GM and player tool to reignite your enthusiasm to play the Star Wars RPG! It's awesome! Thousands of Sith battling thousands of Jedi; what's not to love?

I have an older copy as well. This one now sports a cover. I'm not sure if there are any other changes.

Best SW sourcebook I've picked up all year. ;)

Is it a new updated version? I have downloaded a copy earlier this year (February?).

Same version, AFAIK. Ghenghis Ska is working on an updated version but real life keeps intruding. His water heater just blew up or something... :(

Getting it now. Does everyone who plays Star Wars RPG have a KOTOR game going?
I run pre-KotOR Tales of the Jedi games(i.e. Sith War era), but that's nothing new. I'm still bitter towards that game for ignoring pretty much everything the comics set up...though they were great games, they could have been so much better.

Not their fault. Either someone at LFL should have told them to reference the comics, or perhaps because they are of two different venues spelled out in the agreement.

Even LFL, LucasArts (holder if the electronic license), and WotC (holder of pen-n-paper license) won't give us the straight answer regarding an official RPG character generator. Don't think it is all cut-and-dried when it comes to legalese.

I thought they gave us an answer, it was No (or at least so impractical in terms of arranging licensing that there is no way the product could be profitable).

Yeah, KotoR and TotJ having almost nothing tying them together was really, really annoying since they had such opportunity to develop an already touched on era. Especially since I was already quite familiar with TotJ. I guess somebody at LFL figured nobody would remember, or by setting KotoR a few years (a decade or two wasn't it?) after TotJ they could just act like everything changed quietly in a few years.

As for everybody playing Star Wars running a KotoR game, not all of us are, those who aren't running KotoR are running "Dark Times" games set between Episodes III and IV (now that we have the pieces to see what really happened there), that's what I'm doing now :)

The actual question is "Why can't a character generator software be made for WotC's SW RPG.?"

We don't have an answer to that.
