Spoilers Star Wars: The Acolyte [Spoilers]

He only goes after one of the two sabers. The second blade(not hilt) hits his helmet and shorts out, making it clear that it has something to do with the metal. Sure you don't see what he did to the first blade when he blocked with his bracelet, but you do get a clear look at how the second blade goes out.

Alot more obvious on the rewatch.

I'm fibee either way mo big deal if it's cortosis or Dark Helmet damaging them.

I think rewatching with a finger on the pause button is a kind of cheating, as is being a supergeek who immediately recognises cortosis. The story is told from the jedi viewpoint, they are supposed to be confused and not know what is going on, so the audience is meant to be too.

Yeah, streaming is killing people’s ability to cope with serialised storytelling.
Streaming is a far different animal. The SW shows are stupidly short and most of them with the exception of Andor stretch a 3-4 episode plot over 8.

They are meant to be binged.

I think it is better to say that streaming has killed the writers room.

YouTube an TikTok is more responsible for destroying attention spans along with modern education. I spent a year teaching English after leaving publishing for a bit and modern teachers are taught to never include a lesson plan or activity over 20 minutes. The same thing happened to my kids in elementary school. When I was concerned about my son's writing skill, I was told that they do not get kids to write and practice things over and over any longer because it is boring. How are kids going to deal with looking at spreadsheets for ours if they do not teach attention to detail and rote exercises any more. I find it maddening.

You just said that show, don't tell is a primary teaching tool. They showed us the cortosis effect. They showed us that they knew the wookie Jedi was dead without having seen him. They showed us that the Jedi were confused as to why their sabers stopped working when hit by the cortosis. And 10 to 1 says that they will explain cortosis next episode.

Back before the age of the internet we had to wait until the next week for explanations for things that popped up. We didn't get to run to Google and forums to find out what happened.
Let's hope they mention cortosis next episode but I doubt it will happen. They handwave a lot in the SW shows these days and expect the audience to know everything. Ahsoka was a prime example. The live action audience had never met the Rebels and they had no reason to care for them and the show seems to want to treat the audience as if they knew all about Ezra, Sabine, and Hera.

Rebels is the far better show. If you haven’t seen that you show go and watch it rather than wasting your time on the dull spinoff.

I know. I am one of the heretics that prefer Rebels over Clone Wars; however, we have been told, by Lucasfilm, that many people do not watch the animated content so a live action show cannot rely on people having watched animated content.
