I'd love to see some more Jedi who aren't idiots / doomed / flawed / rigid / etc. Hopefully we'll get that with Rey's new Jedi. Or maybe we could get some Old Republic action.
They tried to give us new stories, and the fanboys nearly revolted. I doubt we'll get anything new in my lifetime, which is likely 15-25 more years.

I'm starting to think that the Jedi are the least interesting thing about the High Republic era. I really didn't need an entire show to tell me how flawed, rigid and doomed they are.
They strike me as just being the FBI/US Marshals of that era. Unless you're the Raylan Givens of the story, you're just another jumped-up cop. In the post-Republic universe they're much more rare and special.

Isn't Taika working on an Old Republic movie or something? And there's going to be a series or some movies about Rey building a new Jedi Order. Or am I imagining all that?

New Jedi order.... Sure, but what are the odds it's actually a new story? Plus, it's still Jedi.....

Well, as I said, I want to see some Jedi who are actually smart, competent, etc. We got glimpses of that in things like the Clone Wars show.

For Rey's show, I sure hope they don't draw on the old EU version of the NJO and give us crap like the Vong.

That's the point. We know the jedi are idiots*, because, as stated, they are at the height of their power. When you are at the top the only direction you can go is down.

*I.e. flawed and human.
this is my only real point here. Sol is human, that is obvious. hell he screamed "I am not emotionally attached" if that don't scream emotional attachment, I don't know what does.

AND that is what I love about this whole show. It shows us people in a system, and both the people and the system are very flawed. But what else can you do, but try to do the best you can when you have made mistakes. I think Sol knows he's made mistakes. And that is why I like him as a character.

As opposed to Qimir. Who doesn't care he's made mistakes, maybe even considers them some of his best work.

In short, I find Sol incredibly relatable. From his emotional attachment to his "stupid" jedi pushing/pulling/yanking/dragging.
