I thought it was a great example of how being Neutral can be better than being 'Good' or noble.

Sol thinks he's doing what is right and honorable: saving children from being sacrificed by cultists.
Unfortunately it's a miscommunication. The twins were told they would have to sacrifice a part of themselves, but misremember that as just being sacrificed.

Sol lets his emotions get the better of him, which is natural. And (for me at least) his actions are understandable based on his perspective.

There's a message in there about not pre-judging others or making assumptions.

I am not concerned with the other live action shows. I am talking about the acolyte, in an acolyte thread.

Alternatively, I think the point about the Jedi from the beginning is that they were stupid, short sighted, and thought they were the ones to bring balance to the Force*. It is the Hubris of the Jedi, as Luke says in the Sequels. I am not interested in stories of the perfect heroes. Those, for me, are unrelatable.

* I am interested in clowns, and clowning. Unlike in America, clowning is seen as an important thing, and in some cultures sacred. The thing is clowns ARE STUPID. They are supposed to be stupid. They are there to help us all relate to the fact that we all make mistakes, act against our own best interests, and act in ways that are decidedly suboptimal.

In short, the Jedi are clowns, in the most mythological and sacred sense. I like the Jedi just the way they are, the fools of the universe.
A fair take. I'd like some actual competent good guys in my entertainment these days. The real world is plenty grey and bleak. I get that Star wars may not give me that. Back in the day, we were led to believe the Jedi were that. Perhaps it's that broken fantasy I miss

Well, as I said, I want to see some Jedi who are actually smart, competent, etc. We got glimpses of that in things like the Clone Wars show.

For Rey's show, I sure hope they don't draw on the old EU version of the NJO and give us crap like the Vong.

I don't want to see the Vong either. They weren't that good in Legends. Concept was kinda fine (extra galactic bioshapers).

Liking Qimir

Well watched it twice now. That episode wasn't good.Sol was going places now he's an idiot, borderline kidnapper and murdered a mother due to his own stupidity.

I don't want Acolyte season 2 but Qimir season 1. Qimir is awesone

Episodes 1,2,5 really good I don't think 8 can end in a satisfying manner. They dontvreally have the runtime. Qimir kill Sol yay? At what point do we start cheering for the Empire to wipe the Jedi out?

Have I mentioned Qimir is awesome.

Is this the first time we've had a pop song during the credits of a Star Wars show or movie?

Luke: Is the Dark Side stronger?
Yoda: No. Quicker. Easier. More seductive.

stories about perfect people being perfect are boring. Also short.

We certainly did not. The Jedi order should never have been involved in an unjust war propping up a corrupt Republic in the first place. TCW makes that clear.

Competent not idiots. Slight difference.
It's right through Disney product. Hux, Finn, Ahsoka, Thrawn, Jedi in this, Fett.

You don't "get over" by making everyone look stupid. Occasional idiot sure but it's very noticeable.

Have you met humans? The Jedi are no more stupid than real people. A lot less really. They messed up for perfectly understandable and realistic reasons. You are looking for superheroes, who always make exactly the right call, and the Jedi were never that. Nor is anyone else. Nor does it make a good story. Here is a problem. Here is a perfect solution. The end.
