As a bio-geek, I was thrilled with the solution to the sickness being venom. There's a fairly large area of research in using various toxins for medical use. It was more than a bit of a hand-wave, but one that it at least based on actual research.
On the biology theme, the fruit scene was well done. You really don't know how your body will react until you try something. I mean, you could do complex chemical analysis on the fruit to rule out any significant toxins. It's easier just to try it though, especially with the medic right there.
I was thrilled Chloe died not once, but twice. I also appreciated the line in the beginning about her wanting to be useful. I still think it's too little, and definitely later than it should have been. Ah well, at least it got mentioned at all.
Eli and TJ had some decent chemistry in the scenes they shared. They should write the two of them more scenes together.
I am fairly disappointed that time-travel was used as a magic reset button. There was a lot of great stuff in the episode that used time-travel to move the characters forward. TJ's breakdown, Eli's speech about friendship, Greer's perception of himself as a failure, all of that would have been great to move forward with. Instead, none of it really mattered for the characters. I think the better ending for the episode would have been for them to get the creatures, and have the "dead" characters in a deep coma. Then you get all the characterization and character movement, without the cheap reset.
Overall though, for the most part I enjoyed this episode. Certainly I enjoyed it more than last week's. I think SGU does better when they're not
trying to address ethical questions, and just telling stories.
