Stats for Zuggtmoy & other Demonic info.

Flexor the Mighty!

18/100 Strength!
Anyone know if they have ever been published?

I've been reading some stuff that lists changes that have occured to the Demon Lords & Princes and was looking for info on this stuff. For example I've read that Baphomet is insane, Fraz-Urb'luu is missing when I thought Erac's Cousin had freed him from Castle Greyhawk recently, Pazeuzeus is insane as well, & Juiblex is dead. What caused these changes from 1e to 2e & 3e? Do any Planescape modules explain this stuff?

I generally ignore anything that happened in Planescape, the Time of Troubles, or the Greyhawk Wars. It's much easier (and less lame that way).

I say make whatever changes YOU feel comfortable with and forget the rest. Make NO changes unless YOU want to. Frankly, I see little benefit in trying to keep MY campaign world in sync with that of various TSR/WoTC products. They don't know my campaign and the changes they make to the official settings are rarely ones I would make in my own. So I ignore them. :D

I believe the "Creature Catalog" has 3e stats for Baphomet, Fraz-Urb'Luu, Juiblex, etc. Not sure about Zuggtmoy being in there. The last I heard of Juiblex was he was an avatar or demigod servant of the FR power Ghaunadaur (aka The Elder Elemental God from GH's GDQ series); this info was vague and was listed in the excellent TSR early 90s sourcebook for 2e, Monster Mythology. Demogorgon was also in there.

In Planescape, Orcus supposedly became a greater god called Tenebrous, went on a divine rampage killing other gods, then was destroyed. However, nobody liked that lame idea and he popped up in 3e in a recent DUNGEON mag with official stats, conveniently restored to his previous name and level of power (much like Bane in the FR).

Nobody likes their favorite evil gods being killed off (Bane, Bhaal, Myrkul, Orcus, etc.), so why TSR did that is beyond me... Then again, much of what TSR did after Gygax left is beyond me! :D

Wasn't Zuggtmoy given 3e stats in a Dragon mag last year promoting enhancements for Monte's RETURN TO THE TEMPLE OF ELEMENTAL EVIL? I know they had the Elemental Princes of Evil and some new elemental evil spells, evil elemental templates and stuff in there, plus a color pull-out map of Hommlet.

She was in the Temple of Elemental Evil.
Here is A 3rd Edition convertion of Zuggtmoy form the CC.

KK: I'm not curious to make sure I follow the offical line, my cosmology is based on the 1st edition setup from the Monster Manuals. The way I plan to play it is Demon Princes & Arch-Devils are demi-gods basically and can grant spells like Lolth does. There is no stupid blood war and Asmodeus is not an uber god's avatar. But I thought it may make good reading.

Yeah. I have them all as demigods capable of granting spells too, just like in 1e, except for major badasses like Asmodeus, Demogorgon and Orcus being Lesser Gods.

FYI Kaptain Kantrip, i don't know where you get your info, but Dead Gods was one of THE BEST modules written, and Planescape was one of the best settings(besides Al quadim). I don't know if you ever played the adventure or even read it to say that it is lame. I KNOW for a fact that a lot of planescape fans think it was one of Monte's best adventures, and if you don't think so, why don't you go over to his site and post it.

If you don't like Planescape, fine. But i don't know why you have to make comments like that when you say

Frankly, I see little benefit in trying to keep MY campaign world in sync with that of various TSR/WoTC products. They don't know my campaign and the changes they make to the official settings are rarely ones I would make in my own. So I ignore them.

and then go into detail about how orcus became tenebrous, and whatever else. For a lame adventure you must have read it, or read about it to find out that much.

Sorry, just in a bad mood right now and had to get it offa my chest. I take it a little personally when someone bashes Planescape and its adventures which had some of the best creativity of any campaign setting around.

Orcus made an appearance though BEFORE the issue of Dungeon. He was mention QUITE prominantly in Manual of the Planes, even if he wasn't statted out. I still think Scott's work is the closest to ANY for the Demon Princes, the ArchDevils AND other powerful Evil outsiders.
