That's right - that's the reason why while casting a spell your Dex drops to 0, attackers get +4 to hit you, you are vulnerable to sneak attacks, you can't make Reflex saves, and you can be couped de grace.

Casting spells and using spell-like abilities provoke AoOs. They don't provoke them because your enemy sees that you are casting a spell. They provoke them because they are mental actions that distract you from the task at hand, namely defending yourself in combat.
