D&D 5E Storm King's Thunder

Tranio sees his companions depart, and trails after them. Death will find them all soon enough, he thinks. Chasing after it benefits no one.

You are all (maybe not the dwarfs) pleased to see that your mounts are still there. The animals let you back on and they take off for the other giant building.`

From closer range, it is clear that the two "islands" are connected by a walkway. The bird follow this path until it leads to a more chapel like structure. The mounts land on the staircase that leads up to an open tower.

Even from a distance, it is clear this space is intended as a place to greet visitors and envoys, decorated with a finely woven rug, a painting of a stern-faced cloud giant, a suit of human-sized armor, and a finely carved table and two chairs.

Dren clutched onto the feathers of his mount with a death grip until they got back onto solid(?) cloudstuff. Moradin forbid if they had to fight on the things!

The dwarven monk looked up at the open tower. Some kind of reception hall, it seemed. “Let’s find these cultists,” he said, drawing his axe.

Tranio hops on the back of his mount, its tawny feathers freckled with black and grey, and launches into the air, following Dren. He looks down, and feels the dire sensation of vertigo. "Woo-hoo" he shouts in delight.
 

Crossbow readied (hopefully), Carolina takes lead and scouts ahead a bit to see what's what.

Fistan frowns at his own bad suggestion, of course chasing down the living made more sense. follows the others to the mounts.

OOC: Oops, got mixed up with Voice of the Chain Master. Fistan and Rillix can only communicate telepathically if they are withing 100ft of each other. I'll have to remember that.

The halfling skillfully navigates across the cloud without making any sounds.

However, the moment she enters the tower something unseen is triggered, the fancy red carpet leaps into the air and attemps to smother her. The halfling is too quick for this awkward attack though.
