Storming the Ship

Did the sword go out of the boat with him or fall inside. Sorry Malachi I did not realize we were already here and missed your signal.
What actually happened was that I posted, "As soon as <thing> happens..." Telling what you're going to do is a good way to speed up a PbP game, which usually goes very slowly. This is also done with "When <thing> happens..." of "If <thing> happens... Otherwise..."

These are good clues for GMs and other players, to know when you're ready for something else. PbP games often have delays because people are waiting for each other.

In a face-to-face game (FtF), the GM leads the story. In a PbP game, the GM is an abjudicator and NPC-controller.

At least, that's my observation.[/sblock]
Malachi is amused as this "fish-out-of-water" splashes around. He swims toward him to help him stay afloat. "Okay, calm down now. I won't let you drown, but you'll have some talking to do." He turns back to Wakil to watch him coming, "This guy isn't making enough noise for you? AAHH!! NOISE! Over this way!"

Watch it Malachi or next time you will get to row. Upon reaching his friend and the would be pirate Wakil will help both of them into the rowboat.

Malachi expertly grasps the struggling man in such a way as to keep him afloat without being drug under himself. He is behind the man with one arm over the man's shoulder and across his chest, the other arm treading water. The man continues flailing about, apparently unreassured by Malachi's presence.

Various cries and the sounds of battle are coming from the ship. As the din dies down, a command cuts over the water.
"Yield or die!" It is followed very shortly by a large splash.

Wakil's rowboat glides out of the fog, and Malachi hails him.

Wakil

Wakil comes to on all stop along side Malachi and the other man. "I will pull him in while you push and then you can come into the boat."

Wakil braces himself to take on the extra weight he also concentrating his senses for signs of dishonarble intensions from the man. His dagger loosly sheathed in order to deal with any situation that could unfold if the man becomes brave. Wakil also realizes he does have a second option of pushing the man back in the drink if things get completly out of control.

Malachi can't help but smile, "Did you mean to imply you can properly steer something seaworthy?"

<Where is that yell coming from? No matter, I can't deal with it now.>

As Wakil approaches, "Ugh. Okay." Malachi struggles a bit as he hoists up the struggling man's body. "Calm down, we actually know how to swim..."

[sblock=OOC]Y'know, my Diplomacy is pretty good. Do I have to tell you when I want to use it, or will you automatically know to use it when I try to calm someone down?[/sblock]

[sblock=Mallak]" For a full description of the captain's cabin, see my earlier post on the subject when Colmarr entered the room."

You typically want to tell them which post number it was (and the page it's found on) or link the post, or both.[/sblock]

Wakil

Wakil grabs the man that Malachi is lifting into the raft and pulls him aboard. The turns to help Malachi aboard while keeping one eye on the new prisoner. "Should we go back for the other two or make for the ship?" "Eitherway we will eventually have to go back I dont want to leave those two in the visinity of the nice lady that helped us."

The man ceases his struggling right before they reach the boat. As Wakil pulls the man aboard, he makes a clumsy grab for Wakil's knife while attempting to pull his own at the same time. Wakil gives him a good cuff over the ear, knocking him to the bottom of the boat, and takes the man's dagger before helping Malachi aboard.

[sblock=OOC]How do you link to a specific post in a message? Also, when you're attempting to be diplomatic you should definitely point that out to me, just to make sure that I remember.[/sblock]

Having now gotten on the boat, Malachi looks down at the limp figure in the bottom of the boat. "Well, he's not moving much for now." He bends down to take a look at the figure, making sure he's okay and trying to estimate how logn he'll be out. "The first people said that there were more of them about to board a ship. That gives me the impression of 'more than one more'. Since we haven't been out here too long, I think we should check on that boat first."

Just then, something clicked. Malachi turns to where he heard the voice before. "Hello! Is anyone there?! Help me, Wakil, this boat can't be far."
[sblock=OOC]Then, yes, using Diplomacy. Do you also want me to post my modifier for quick referencing (and for that matter, do you want me/us to post my/our modifiers whenever we do anything that would require a roll), or will you look it up for everybody?

The numbers in the top right of every post is a link to that specific post. To link to a post, you can either copy/paste the link or you can use the <url=http://www.blahblah.com>Word(s)</url> tags, with []'s instead of <>'s to hyperlink the text "Word(s)."[/sblock]

The man stirs in the bottom of the boat, groaning softly. Wakil didn't actually knock him out, just stunned him.

[sblock=OOC]Ah, I see, thanks. I just didn't know where to get the link for a specific post. Also, I don't know if you're following the main IC thread or not, but I've posted your hail to the ship there. If/when they respond, go ahead and move the dialog into that thread. Until you are actually there physically, I'll continue to post in this thread, and you can converse with each other in this thread. However, posting your dialog with the ship PCs in the other thread will make it easier on me and less confusing for everyone, I think.[/sblock]
