Storming the Ship

Mallak--I didn't ask before, but can we use the Complete books? I'm considering getting a spell from Complete Divine, and later getting a couple from Complete Adventurer. There's some neat things in Stormwrack, too, but more neat for you than for me (rules and types of boats and such).

I was thinking that Wakil and my original boat might be a Dhow or a Cog

Ok, so, I'll start answering questions:

You have no first level money. You may have a bit of money from the Nice Lady, but I'll think about that one.

Yes, you have 2 swords, 1 shield, and no armor between the two of you. However, the two hooligans you captured are both wearing leather, if you want to take the time to strip them down and get into it. It may or may not fit well.

For Malachi: Your hitpoints will be 14. You are 1st level with 500XP. Also, please fill in the damage numbers for your Light Crossbow. Also fill in the number for your FF AC. I suspect you also need a couple feats. Feel free to use any of the complete books. Also, if you have that Stormwrack book, I'd like to get a look at it, if I may. Oh, and you don't know halfling.

Wakil, please not that "Adonai" is spelled A-D-O-N-A-I. You are level 1 with 500XP. Please fill in all the numbers for your AC, including Touch and Flatfooted. Also, fill in the numbers for Reflex and Will saves and your weapon damages. Your max skill ranks are 4/2. Oh, and "Nobility" does not begin with the letter 'k'. Other than that, you need to flesh out your list of equipment, including your weapons, and total up your weight.

Next up I'll have some IC stuff.

Wakil strains his eyes, attempting to catch sight of the ship's attackers. However, the fog has grown thicker, and it obscurs his view. Nearby, the two ruffians they'd caught lay bound facedown in the sand of the river's edge. If only there were some way to get out to the ship.

Malachi goes about methodically stripping their captives of their armor while waiting for Wakil to come up with a plan.

[sblock=OOC]By the way, I didn't know how many tindertwigs in a tinderbox, and I assumed the rope was hemp.

Wakil
The rest of the equipment is:
one dagger, one common longsword, one shortbow, 20 arrows, one Shield of Adonai, the clothes on your back, a hatchet.

I'm not attached to any of the items I chose, so if you want any of it just say so. I figured it wasn't a big deal, so I just got some of the utility things since I'm kind of a utility character.

By the way. You know how to do an sblock. To make it say "OOC" like mine, use sblock=OOC instead of just sblock... just for the opening tag[/sblock]

ooc: I thought a) the lady's house was off the beach, 2) the attackers were at the lady's house and iii) we had travelled to te beach, away from the attackers and their armor. I'm ready to jump in and swim to the boat.

And I thought that a) the lady's house is up the river but near the beach, 2) the attackers were at the house, but after you subdued them you marched them down the river, partly to have them lead you to where their buddies were, partially because you didn't want to leave them at the house with the lady, and iii) yes, you traveled to the beach, but the attackers (and their armor) came with you. Jumping in and swimming to the boat is a perfectly reasonable suggestion, though it would be more difficult in armor.

[sblock=OOC]Actually, swimming would not be more difficult in leather armor. ACP 0.

I'm still surprised we were able to subdue both of them and keep them conscious.[/sblock]
Malachi gazes out into the water. "We could swim there, but then we'd have to leave these two hooligans to their own devices."

[sblock=OOC]Armor has weight, weight gives negatives to swimming. And as for subduing them, well, you may or may not have knocked them unconcious back at the house, but you bound them and woke them up for questioning. Then you marched them back down the river. Nothing to it.:)[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Leather armor adds 15 pounds to my total, which keeps me at a light load, so it doesn't affect Swim checks. Swim checks are affected by 2 x ACP or encumbrance. It has nothing to do with weight. Waking up an unconscious character takes a long time. If he's unconscious from subdual damage, that heals at 1/hour. If he's unconscious from real damage, it takes much longer. I suppose it's possible they were just barely unconscious/conscious. In which case, I would...[/sblock] After some consideration, Malachi knocks both prisoners unconscious. "Well, that solves that. They should be awake in a few hours, so let's not delay."
