I like the idea of shurikens but am not sure I want to blow the feat. Maybe I will get some and just take the -4 attack penalty. After all, my attack bonus is likely going to be bad anyhow, and a natural 20 always hits.

Probably true. :) It might be wise to invest in Craft Wondrous Item at some point then, huh? I've got to admit, though, the role-playing opportunities for a Str 2 character would be priceless. Constantly begging that brawny barbarian to carry your components pouch would never get old... well, for me at least. :D Say, maybe you could get the party tank to cart you around in his backpack? I wonder what the concentration check would be for casting a spell while riding a charging barbarian...
 

Invest in a well trained riding dog and go EVERYWHERE with him. Then you could get around the encumbrance a little bit. Or pair up with a burly non-combat type, ride in thier backpack and do the "Master-Blaster" thing. :D If you're not squeamish and have flexible morals, put a hanging chair inside the ribcage of an animated large skeleton- easy transport AND cover!

Ok, maybe those last two are abit silly, but a good riding dog would be very useful. You could name yourself 'Sir Didymus'! :p

Or a cheaper mule ... but it might end up choosing for you where you go. I can just picture that weak gnome pulling on the reins of his mule, to no avail. "Come on, you lousy beast, move ! Arrgghh ... no ! not that way ... come on ... alright, fine, we'll go where you want ..." ;)
 

I've got an idea on what a Str2 person might be like. Did you ever see the movie "Unbreakable"? Samuel L. Jackson plays a character with such an extreme bone disorder that it's like his bones are made of glass. His whole life he's been on crutches or in a wheelchair, and even tripping on the street is enough to cause serious injury. Though, that character idea seems more of a low Str and low Con deal.

What you could do is have your character have a dgenerative nerve or muscle disorder. Perhaps something akin to Parkinson's, Muscular Dustrophy or another Myopathy. He may always travel with a crutch or staff to walk with. Just some ideas for you...
 

I think if a half-orc can raise his Charisma to 3 if it was less than that, a gnome or halfling should be able to raise his Strength to 3 as well. IMO, scores of 2 or less are like "Shift 0" in the original Marvel Superheroes RPG... they don't actually start that low, they just get that low in bad situations.

Since you're still in 3.0, Bull's Strength lasts almost an entire adventure once you're able to cast it... you can take advantage of that.
 

Hmmm...bull's strength could bring up my strenght, and a mount could reduce encumbrance and increase movement together, if I go for the ride skill so I don't make an @$$ of my self.

But I am also interested in what a strength two character is capable of and not capable of. Maybe I should phrase it differently. What is a DC 7 strength check required for (I would fail this 50% of the time)? What is a good DC strength check for peeling an orange? Stuff like that.

Oh, on the half-orc -- they can have chr.1, but it is int. that must be at least 3. Int 2 is for animals, not sapient creatures. The line there seems to be rather firm (surprising, considering that the only other line in the sand I can think of is for feat prerequisites -- everything else is on a continuum).

Hey, at least I am stronger than my toad! :)
 

I am in almost the same boat you are with my character!

I am playing a gnome bard in 3.5 and put my worst roll into my STR, giving me a mighty 5. -3 to hit and damage pretty much says you are worthless in melee. At first I didn't even bother to have a hand weapon, until I realized that you cannot give someone else a flanking bonus if you don't have a pointy stick in your hand.

Now my main role in combat is to grab my pointy stick, go get in flank position, and do a FULL DEFEND so I don't actually get hit. I also tote around the small light crossbow mentioned earlier to deal out a piddly D6 damage now and then when I have nothing better to do.

NOW, that all being said, I just go back from our game today where my STR 5 little gnome just BULL-RUSHED the evil dwarf back into a pit of lava. You have to imagine that he was totally not expecting that one. Fortune favors the bold!

HINT: Have one of the "big folk" carry around your adventuring pack. The only items I carry on me are mithril shirt, light crossbow, spell pouch, a few scrolls, and a wand. Also don't forget that small versions of weapons and armor have their weight halved. Lets go wuss-gnomes!
 

I'm thinking this guy should get a war dog with a dog's ridding saddle but mount a crossbow to the saddle instead. It may cost some time and money for the training of the animal, but the upside is constant cover from the dog!

Played a character with an 8 strength recently. It was hell. I could barely carry the essentials. Therest of the group protested my decision to have such a low score at every opportunity. (Having a Con of 8 as well didn't really help).
Could only carry something like 30 points before becoming encumbered. Convenently I had a power that let me slide things along the ground as though they weighed 1/10th their weight (Skate from the PsiHB). You should think seriously about something similar (tenser's floating disk?)

Have fun, and hope your DM doesn't focus on the physics.
