How much con do you all go for? It’s hard to have everything as you know.

with my arcana cleric I am looking at 16 str, 16 wis and 14 con with heavily armored at 1

he is an urchin and has a lot to prove chip on shoulder. Chr 8.

I cannot play less than a 10 int, ever. I also have a 10 dex.

wondeing if I should reearange
To be more reailient. Heck I could take heavy armor master at 4 if I had to....
14 is more than enough constitution, I'm normally happy with at least a 12 if I'm going to be in the thick of things for just a small boost though as a caster in combat, having a little more for concentration saves is probably a good idea.

Really good feedback. How much grappling does everyone do? Only one attack but if I go variant human, I plan to take athletics
I normally don't do any grappling, but that might be because I forget that's a thing I can do more than anything else.

I'm pretty bored with high-dex characters, too. If I were going to do a Strength cleric:
Arrange my stats in order from highest to lowest: Str, Wis, Con, Cha, Dex, Int.
Choose Mountain Dwarf for race; boost Str and Con by +2 each
Choose Background: Soldier; get proficiency in Athletics and Intimidate
Choose Cleric, then choose Strength Domain.

But if...
...if your DM allows non-core races, choose Firbolg instead of Mountain Dwarf.
...if your DM allows feats, pick up Resilient (Strength) at the first opportunity, and/or Sentinel.
...if your DM allows multiclassing, consider a level or two of Barbarian.
...and if your DM allows you to purchase magic items, save up for a Belt of Giant Strength and the heaviest two-handed weapon you can find.

I have had thoughts about firbolg actually. Love dwarves generally. Man you could wreck house with a mountain dwarf!

I think athletics is really underrated until you aggressively use it in action. Tripping creatures, knocking them back into holes or dangerous spots, holding them in your spirit guardian space with grapple....all are fun options.

Holding someone in spirit guardians. I love it!

Nothing wrong with a Life cleric with plate and a shield tanking on the front lines with spirit guardians and spiritual weapon.

You aren't using Strength for damage mind you but that's not really the cleric's forte, although Divine Strike does help in that department.

No but I want to spank a monster with gfb and potent spellcasting.

ok I lied. I DO want the strength for damage
