I realize stupid people don't need a reason, but why? My first guess is that Supergirl isn't played by an American? They saw something that made the movie "woke"?

You may be looking too deep. Based on past experience, it could be as simple as “Supergirl is a girl! And she’s the main character!!! WTF!!!!!”
