Slightly incorrect. GA Dr Fate was more like Mandrake with spells being spoken in reverse, not too flashy. After Dr Strange appeared they integrated the more flashy magical style for Dr. Fate. So they rip off each other.
That's a bit too nit-picky. besides, everyone knows Divination is the strongest wizard subclass.

Although, since Doctor Fate wears a hat, he is a wizard, and Doctor Strange doesn't, so he is a sorcerer.

I think this is a bigger issue than an inconsistent origin story*. When you have a character with "average", common superpowers - average flight, average super strength, special weapon - how do you make them interesting? You make them the team leader (like Captain America). This was one thing the Black Adam movie got right.

*Although involving Egyptology is cultural appropriation. And involve reincarnation and it becomes even more offensive to modern Egyptians.
I've been a Hawkman fan for decades and he was never that one dimensional. Plus, as a student of Egyptian myth, reincarnation is every bit a part of ancient Egyptian religion, especially for Pharaoh & his family etc. Comparing ancient Egyptian religious beliefs and practices to modern Egyptians is like comparing modern Christians to ancient Christians. Ancient Christians didn't have a prosperity gospel for example or dispensationalism, hallmarks of the evangelical movement founded in the mid 19th century. To complicate that modern Egyptians do not practice their ancestral religion or culture.

As I've said before, it has nothing to do with what Egyptians believe, and everything to do with the way their national treasures where looted and misrepresented.

Americans don't worship the Statue of Liberty, but they would be pretty pissed off if it was shipped off to London and renamed Mrs Washington Attends a Book Burning.

I just looked at the first appearance of Dr. Fate and he was using his abilities without speaking backwards. Are you perhaps confusing him with Zatanna and her father who do speak their spells backwards?

so, folks transcribed the news paper that was seen in the trailer SUPERMAN: Daily Planet Article Reveals Another Villain (Not Grodd) And Some Potentially Major Plot SPOILERS

Metropolis was targeted by a superpowered mystery man on Sunday, resulting in over 20 million dollars in damage to the city. The self-titled “Hammer of Boravia” attacked Downtown Metropolis claiming it was retribution for the recent political interventions in Boravia by Superman. This vengeful expedition turned into a terrorist assault on American soil, hospitalizing 22 Metropolis citizens.Boravia has been the source of numerous headlines worldwide in recent weeks as it invaded its neighboring country Jarhanpur, only for the brief war to be swiftly ended by the Superman.

The President of Boravia, Vasil Glarkos(?), maintains the Hammer of Boravia is not a representative of the national government, but rather an independent vigilante…When addressing the political ramifications of his actions, Superman said, “While critics thousands of miles away from this conflict continue to argue if what I did was right or wrong, the bottom line is peoples lives were threatened. I had to act.”Damages included an ocular laser strike on the well-known Chocos building. “Luckily no employees were injured,” says a Chocos spokesperson, “and this will not affect the production of our beloved Chocos cookies!”The company also promised to offer employees affected by this attack a paid recovery holiday and says any requested therapy will be fully covered.

No employees could be reached to confirm these offers…“I mean he’s helping people every day. I can do it at least once.”The destruction of public property due to the actions of super-powered individuals and extraterrestrials has been a contentious topic of discussion in local government. Many believe that the recent tax hike is a consequence of this rise in super-people acting outside the law. “The recent tax raise was only to support our ever growing population”, claims a representative from the metropolis capital, “our latest project is to restore reported condemned housing and recodify them into modern standards. This would increase available homes in New Troy 17%, Bakerline 19% and Queensland park 26%”.

That's not a modern tendency. They were always a literal couple until JSA when they introduced Kendra and then brought back the GA Hawkman. The story became the push against it by Kendra then. They are literally a married couple for over 50 years of comic history.

I wasn't talking about rolling Hawkman and Hawkgirl together but the "ancient Egyptian prince/princess" and the "Thanagarian police" versions. I've seen more than one attempt to do that, and didn't think any of them worked.

I'm glad the supers are already established in this movie. I don't need or want an origin story movie or series for every character that gets introduced. I get why the MCU did that - for people less familiar with supers comics. But 12 years after the Avengers movie I feel supers are commonly understood enough to not have to do an introduction arc for everyone.

Even Marvel isn't planning to do that all the time anymore.

The trouble re: Marvel and introduction arcs is that they've said a number of times over the last few years that they're "not going to do them anymore", but they just keep doing them! They can't help themselves! She-Hulk was meant to start in media res and only go to her getting her powers like in the mid-season, but nope, Jessica Gao got told to just rip that episode out of place and put it as the first one (leading to it having underbaked CGI and poor editing/pacing), presumably by Feige, and after he'd been saying "We trust audiences, we don't need to do origin stories!" for like, years, at that point.
