I have no reason to fear you... in fact.... this intregues me beond my control.... I wish to learn more.... I wish to meet your "Mother and Father."

No rats come any nearer than they already at are Marcus' beckoning.

They seem to think for a moment, then speak again.

"Our Father and Our Mother are of no concern to you. We are their Voice. They are far more than you, and are not to be trifled with speaking to lesser mortals such as Humans. They were, and now are More."

"Perhaps in the future, if you are successful with your goals, Father will wish to speak to you. It is doubtful. We will give it thought, and we shall ask him."

Ashe looks about at each of his fellows, and then back to the ratmen "Can one of you take us to the place where the fish rides the waters, where last you saw the master dwarf, we would very much like to see this place."

OOC: These are normal rats, not ratmen of any sort. (like Skaven or wererats).

The rats again speak.

"Yes. We can take you to the where the fish sometimes rests."

Presuming you all wish to go, three or four of the rats and one of their "watchmen" lead you back to the iron ring on the first level.

"This is where the fish comes to sleep at times. It is not here now. We can show you where it lives. Where they live."

Saxon thinks long and hard about what the rats have told them. He faces the others to share his conclusions.

"I'll take it that the force they are opposed to would be Skaven, or possibly were-rats, they'd be our dwarf friend's kidnappers apparently, but nonetheless I wouldn't put it past these bunch with their dislike of wealth and all. The Father and Mother could be powerful druids at a guess, and their goals could be simply described as not beneficial to the overall well being of the city's current status."

He turns in the general direction of the rats.

"Yes, I would like to know where the fish lives, thankyou," he says.

Saxon carefully restrains Mzarem from any violent measures.

"That sounds abour right, Marcus. And I'd be willing to put a good bet on it being Skaven. They're almost always up to something unnatural..."

Arin follows along, trying to keep as clean as possible in all the muck. "Skaven... I don't think I've ever met one. But lycanthropes I know alot about.. why my *clears throat* um my father used to be an adventurer, and told me many stories about them."

The rats lead you back down the tunnels, into their level, and past the many, many rats and watch rats that clustered the first room you entered that level in. They lead you along tunnels which do not look like they have ever seen the boots of humans. Piles of rotting cloth, food, and gear lay about these tunnels. Eventually, after perhaps an hour of wandering through these tunnels, you come upon a spiraling stone stairwell, leading upwards back towards the first level.

The rats again speak.

"They reside at the top of these man-steps, but they have made a wall at the top, thinking to keep us out. They know us."

One rat rushes up the stairs, then after a few moments, it runs back down.

"There is but one there, and he stands. He looks like a human, but he is not. He smells like them. Beyond is a door made of shining stone. It has a tunnel through it, at the base and at man-height, and we saw six humans inside. One was your bearded man. We knew him from your thoughts."

"Further yet there is a hall. Three sit at a meal there."

"And from another tunnel, it leads to the fish."

"Well folks, seems we've almost got our job done in finding the missing persons. Just have to formulate a plan to get rid of their captors," Saxon says quiety, trying to prevent Mzarem from being too loud, "Now that I think of it. About Mother and Father, one of them would have to be an arcane spellcaster to make those watchmen rats."
