The Crux of the Matter

"Most of it discharged with Elayna's Baleful Polymorph. Even if not, the effects of double spell turning are unpredictable, and range from both of the targets being hit by the spell to the spell dissipating to the Spell Turning ending to a giant rift to an alternate universe sucking us in."

"It could sent the Crux in another dimension, but I'm not sure it would be a good thing, and it is too unpredictible to be a solution... I start to run out of ideas." tells Rinaldo.

"It would only relocate the problem, I fear. I suppose I shall move in, then." Ashna looks at the remaining people if they want to speak up before she goes. Assuming no one does, she goes, dagger in hand.
(In the unlikely case it makes a difference - Ashna does believe the Crux must be destroyed, but she doesn't exactly want it destroyed. She'd rather study it, and she considers it a shame that such a powerful creation has become so deeply flawed it must be destroyed.)

"I would suggest to wait. Another mind to think to another solution would be a good thing. But if another spell is coming, don't hesitate to throw yourself toward the Crux. Our odds of survival seems better lost in time than against one of Sin's spell." replies Rinaldo before Ahsna(r) move toward the Crux.

"It deflected my sonic pulse, so it isn't normal spell turning. In the end, the telekinetic force is almost the same. I would say odds are almost certain that it would deflect that too."

(OOC: Reverting to the dagger advance for Ashna then?)

"So what? Only chronomancy can affect that thing? And the only chronomancer we know is trying to kill us, so I doubt we can have help from her." Rinaldo looks at Hogarth. "And Gundar havn't suggest any mean to destoy the Crux, he only told to follow the path of destruction."

"I...don't know what will work. I didn't imagine that it would divert attack like this. If it absorbs or diverts everything, it may well be an invincible defense. Then again, you said Elayna seemed convinced she could disable it. Either she knows something we don't or she was just lying again."

"Yes, she seems to know, but she needed Laynie..." Rinaldo turn toward Laynie. He then shooks his head. "No, I have an idea, but that sounds ridiculous.... but... if it was Laynie who could come close to the Crux? Could that protection have been created by Eleyna Valsice to prevent anyone to touch to it, and only her could approach the Crux? After all, Laynie is her daugther, and her mother is inside her. Sin needed Laynie to come to the Crux room, but could it be to come closer than any of us?"

"Hmmm, it seems to do just the opposite--it prevents Elayna's Aspects from entering the room. I think it is just an innate property of the Crux. Laynie will probably be absorbed too if she approaches it."
