The Unicorn who seems especially interested in princesses reveals his name to be Stardazzle, and his companion is named Moonriver. Moonriver rolls his eyes as Stardazzle, saunters up to Persephone, eager to continue the conversation. Stardazzle absolutely preens at the compliment Persephone offers.

"How did a Princess of such obvious grace and beauty, not to mention good taste, come to fall upon such hard times as you hint at?"

"Oh, Stardazzle, its not always so great being a princess. You know, you'd think life would be just grand if you were rich, young, beautiful, and had the blood of the dragon-slayer running in your veins." She reaches out as she speaks, slowly letting her fingers touch the unicorn's mane.

If the unicorn doesn't object, she interrupts herself. "What soft hair you have. Heavenly." If the hair isn't soft, she probably thinks of something equally nice to say.

"Anyway. My uncle became king and wanted to marry me off for political gain. Now that doesn't happen to a pretty farm girl. Does it? Anyway, I marry only the man of my choice at the time of my choosing. I'm sure you're the same way. But there was no telling my uncle that. What a big jerk. So I had to sneak off, with just my owl for company. So now I have to support myself. So, like, when this jewler offered us a reward for the return of a necklace which was stolen from him, I took the job. Turns out that awful redcap stole it and is using its teleportation powers to pop over to human lands, kill for pleasure, then pop back to these woods. So here I am. A girl who only wants the freedom to marry for love, having to fight this insane killer far from home." sigh.

Stardazzle apears to be becoming increasingly enamoured of Persephone, but Moonriver interupts the budding conversation.

"In any event, business of the Fey Lord is no business of ours. We must go. Come along, Stardazzle."

With a wistful backward glance at the Princess, Stardazzle follows Moonriver and they gallop off.

Ishmael scratches his head as the Unicorns disappear into the Wood.

Odd. I suppose that we should retrieve the rest of the party and continue our search for the Redcap.

Percy

Percy manages to give a last hug to Stardazzle before he (she?) leaves, resting her cheek against the soft fur. "It was wonderful to meet you. Look me up anytime. I can't wait to tell my girlfriends back home about this. You were more wonderful than even the stories say."

She wipes away a tear as they trot off.

She turns towards the others. "OK. You can come out. Aeric, Fjorn, can you tell where that crazy little bastard is? In any case, I'm not letting any of you guys get killed. We simply must get that sword reforged before we fight him again."

Aeric indicates that the Redcap seems to be on the move, but is ready to begin the hunt. Will you seek out the Redcap now, or try to have the sword reforged?

"I, ah, was close enough to see, er, the redcap was healed." Nars offers as information. He does not indicate an opinion on the next course of action.

Then it is decided. Without the element of better health on our side, we have to get this blade forged. Shall we return to Rilthorne's ally to have this repaired or do we have another option for the reforging?

Ishmael is a little leery of speaking of the blade on acount of the Thorns' company, but then, haste is required and not subtlety.

Percy

"That wizard who made Gorefoot's magic sword. It's not far. You see. When we fight this redcap again, we've simply GOT to get that necklace. I'm thinking I'll have to turn Gorefoot, Rodimus and Nars invisible. Then the three of them have to jump the redcap at the same time & tear off his necklace. Only then can we commence to fight. We'll probably take some hits that way, so its essential that we have every advantage we can get in the fight. Like this blade. Let's head out then. Aeric, Fjorn. We'll be back. Thanks for your help and patience."
