The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Official Teaser Trailer (2025)

I just saw a teaser that suggests that Galactus offered to leave Earth ago if they gave him Franklin and... I kind of want to see the movie now where they actually lose and the Earth is destroyed because of their selfishness? I am not a big fan of the whole, "I would let the whole Earth burn for my child 'ethic'," and it does not math very well anyway: what are the odds that it is going to be your child is saved while the rest of the world is sacrificed? Much more likely that your child burns when you promote this line of thinking.

Maybe after they'll do a Fantastic Four - Fab Four mashup?

The Fabtastic Four!
George Harrison, aka The Psychedelic Torch!
John Lennon, aka Mr. Imagine
Paul McCartney, aka The Invisible Fool on the Hill
Ringo Starr, aka The Beatle

They actually have crossed over, in a 1964 issue of Marvel's Strange Tales (when I was a kid I was a huge fan of both so this fact was very important to me. Also, note that the title of this article is inaccurate; the FF don't actually meet The Beatles in this issue, though Ben and Johnny's girlfriends do):

How could I forget about Jojo Rabbit?! That's peak Taika as well!

To steer the thread back on-topic, I only just realized this morning that the reason Johnny Storm looks so familiar is because Joseph Quinn played Eddie Munson on Stranger Things! I didn't fully recognize him without the long frizzy rocker hair!

Yeah, Quinn as the Human Torch is probably what I'm most looking forward to in the film.
OK, him and Galactus.

If memory serves in the comics, Franklin makes Galactus his herald in one of the timelines.

I have avoided trailers and spots after the first couple trailers, and I am really invested in seeing how this whole Galactus/Franklin/switching-universe/timelines thing plays out.

Thor: Ragnarok? I mean, the core plot is a remnant of the past showing up to take over the seemingly good kingdom, and in the process revealing its sordid history and that the reason it's so rich in comparison to its counterparts is that they used to run around kicking everybody's butt and taking their stuff. Nah, there aren't any real-world parallels there. None.

I mean, yes, there's "I know him from work!", but there's also the other thing.
But...is the movie about those real-world parallels? I mean, I never get the sense in that movie that it's trying to talk about that. Maybe Thunderbolts is just more obvious about it?
