The Hunted (DM: IronSky, Judge: ???)

OK thanks Iron Sky. RL has me swamped right now and I was going to try and get to that today, but you beat me to it. Oh, and Xander really appreciates the Holy Symbol :-)

Thanks

Raijin picks up the orange gem and fits it into the end of his new staff. Hmmm, this is certainly an arcane stone of power. When he sees no others take the gloves he studies them with growing interest. These are also powerful, though they do not seem appealing to the eye. He puts them on then conceals his hands inside his robes, both staves on his back.

OOC: Good choices DM!

"Oooh, will you look at that! A ladies' leather suit. How very chic!," says Auntie Mab, snatching up the leathers and beginning to doff her cloak and homemade 'armor', before she realizes she is undressing in front of the rest of the party. Blushing a deep red, she runs into another room, mumbling, "excuse me a minute would you..."

She rounds the corner back into the room a few moments later, positively beaming as she struts in wearing the rakish leather vest and tight-fitting pants, which seem deeply at odds with her patched, threadbare cloak and floppy hat. "See dearies, it fits perfectly! Who says fashion is only for the young?"

"But, on to business now. I wonder if there's a piece of that map anywhere in here? Tristram, be a dear would you and help Auntie look for anything that might have a map on it."

*Squeak!*, says the diminutive rodent as he dives into the treasure pile.

Devinihm, wilden druid

Devinihm finds himself drawn to the gold-laced branch. His form buzzes a bit as he touches it and smiles.

"There are not trees like this where I come from, but it feels ... familiar."

He waits patiently as Mab's rat searches the smaller areas of the room, turning his own eyes to the room, as well, wondering if, like the ship, the vault might have a secret floorboard.

The Hunted: Day 1, Hour 11, Minute 45

As the group sorts through the items and takes what seems fitting, Mab and Devinihm search the room thoroughly. They're about to give up when Devinihm glances at one of the paintings and notices that the woman who the group found dead in the next room over is in it.

He calls Mab over and she notices that the woman is bald in the picture, though there's faint blue and black tracings on her head. After staring at it until they are cross-eyed, the two of them manage to get a few details. Added to the pieces the group already has from the ship and the merchants house, it might be enough to locate the island - if shown to someone with enough knowledge to turn the group's pieces into a real map.

"I'll take that staff seeing how some of our enemies like to get close and personal in the open."

Illarion helps others by drawing what they describe so they don't have to move their eyes too much from the details.

He sweeps the room once for traces of magic, once the items are removed. Just in case. Maybe because of lack of threat or because so many magic items left their impression here, his connection to the weave is strong and he detects faintest traces of lingering auras.

"Now we must hope the hunters have not found the ship Dartanian hired before we do. He may have enough information from the booked passage to help us sort the map pieces."

They will not use such mundane transport, these hunters of the abyss. Though perhaps swiftness is appropriate, there should be some among those who pilot the ship or the harbormen who can decypher our incomplete map. Raijin turns to go up the stairs and out.

The Hunted: Day 1, Hour 12, Minute 1

Illarion gives the room a final sweep for magic and finds a different trace of abyssal magic than the group found previously that leads him back to the now-empty room where the woman was murdered. After several minutes of considering the strangely dense imprint of defiled magic on the walls, he determines that the creature - or at lease one of the creatures if there are more than one - that the group is hunting can phase through walls...

After he is done and everyone has gathered their things, Raijin leads the group out leading the group out to find a cartographer he'd heard of. Unfortunately, after wandering around near the docks for a while, he discovers that the cartographer is presently out on a voyage for Daunton, mapping an isle that has drifted into the nearby seas.

GM: If anyone wants to do a last check for something in the Chipped Flask, you can roll it now. Otherwise, you're out on the docks.

Edit: Congrats, you guys are in the Screamer.
