I don't know who needs to hear this, but no amount of yelling and complaining can fix your date, your spouse, or your marriage for you.

Sorry, but not even the best restaurant staff in the world can transform that loser you walked in with into an interesting or considerate person. Be kind, and tip them anyway.

In my experience, being single doesn't have much to do with it. The only times I've ever been stressed out about Valentine's Day was when I worked in food service, or when I foolishly made reservations at a restaurant.

My plan for tonight is to stay home and cook a nice (fancy, even) dinner with my spouse, followed by bourbon & video games, followed by an early bedtime. Nothing to stress about.

What do you call it when someone is complaining about a problem that has been occurring over and over and over, for a very long time, and a proposed solution or two is offered which might help get them unstuck from this quagmire, which you can't know for sure if it will work, but surely anything new and different is worth at least trying, but... they keep complaining anyway, and the suggestion that was put on the table remains unacknowledged and then you wonder why, and wonder if maybe it's not a problem from them after all, and for whatever reason they actually want to remain in this situation that they are complaining about?

What do you call that?
