But it makes money because it makes people happy.

Sure, it's am amoral corporate entity, but that's called a virtuous cycle...regardless of the ethical compass involved, greedy self-interest van align with the good (if yhe greedy entity is smart, it always will in the long term).

In this age of auto-"correct" and virtual (that is, highly error-prone) keyboards, I still find it amazing how many people hit "Post" without even once reviewing what they have typed to see if it's even words.
The only way I could be a better player than you are right here right here in this picture of me is to play the guitar.

(That entire phrase was just my phone’s predictive text, so idk. Apply that to 5e somehow.)

We have a collection of funny phone responses from my octogenarian mother, who is really bad with technology. The best to me was when I texted her "I'll be there soon." and she responded "You better be," because that was one of the options on her apple watch. The best of all time was when my nephew broke his arm and she responded "lol" because she thought it meant "lots of love."

When I taught college English, none of my students could be bothered to proof anything. I'm not sure why folks arguing about elf games would be more diligent.

I do remember when I worked as a technical writer, an intern who was trying to get hired pulled her writing sample off the printer and handed it directly to the senior technical writer. He pointed that out as a bad sign. But, it's true, seems nobody checks anything any more: not prose, not code, not game design.... :p

Edit: Oh yeah, fixed that typo.
