You are allowed to have preferences. You don't need to try and dress them up with nonsensical rationales proving your tastes are based on "logic." It doesn't work and it's not necessary. You can just like or dislike stuff, rather than trying to prove that everyone else is wrong for disagreeing with your tastes.

(Also, while you might think it makes you look really smart, it's doing the opposite.)

The problem is that a fair number of people think preferences not based on logic are nonsensical; whether theirs actually is or not is irrelevant to them seeing it in that terms because they won't allow themselves to have ones they don't see that way.
