No matter what you do, you're not going to change someone else's mind. You might be able to get them to change their own minds, but that's entirely up to them, and something they need to be willing to do.

Well, you are severely unlikely to change their minds by badgering them with "TEH TRVTH!!1!" on the internet. For our intents and purposes, that's about the same thing.

Yea. It’s called persuasion.

Just be sure to not use facts when making those unnatural face noises, studies show facts don’t change minds.

And internet debates usually happen between two or more people that have already decided their stance on a subject and are typically less than willing to change their position. It's extremely hard to convince someone if they've already decided that they're right and aren't open to evidence contrary to their worldview.

They also frequently involve one of those people trying to tell the other that what they like, as a matter completely of personal preference, is "objectively" wrong.
