The only fermented thing that belongs anywhere near colcannon on Paddy's Day is a pint of Guinness... :p

(I loathe cabbage, and make my colcannon with kale and onions.)

I've given up on sarcasm, and I've given up on snark.

From now on, I'm coming straight out of the gate with snarkasm. :p
YMMV but I find that straight sincerity wrong-foots people* harder than just about anything else.

But how you get to the goal is just as important as getting there. Convincing them to change their mind through eloquent discourse and honest discussion is great. Continually hammering away at them until you wear them down is not.
I manipulate people (including my friends) into changing their minds or making certain choices all the time (usually for their own good), but that doesn't necessarily make it right.

I don't generally disagree, but when it comes to some topics, I suspect some people really don't give a damn, and given how things are going in some spheres I can't entirely blame them.

There is a brand of root beer named Barq's, which at one point had a somewhat surreal ad campaign based on its slogan "Barq's has bite." This was long ago.

I hope that's what you were asking about.
Not that long ago. It’s still a current slogan on their website. One of the reasons Barq’s has bite is because most formulations of it have caffeine.
