To this day, and given all the technology and need for content, I don't understand why Roger Zelazny's books have not seen a major adaptation.

You would think that, if nothing else, the Amber series would make for a great prestige show.

From what I understand, they were making a run at that a while back but it fell into development hell.

But I agree; you'd think in the post-GoT era Amber would be a natural. And it'd only be intermittently expensive in a SFX fashion.

You guys probably haven't recently gamed with the actual Old School guys being referred to. You always make the players roll at the session, right in front of you. The number of 18s I've "seen" rolled on the floor or behind a counter is greater than you'd believe possible.

I have a standing offer at my table: I will let a character start with an 18 in any ability score of the player's choice. There's just one caveat:

They also start with a 3 in any ability score of my choice.

Twenty-three years have gone by and so far, no takers. I can't imagine why.

I've seen iterations of Amber in development for so long, that I won't believe it until it starts shooting.
