This is the best thing about loving things that most other people hate. More for me then. Oh no, all the cookies are already gone except oatmeal raisin? What a shame... for the rest of you
Does that apply to liver and onions too? Because back when I was a kid, there are some meals my mother made where a friend like you would have been REALLY helpful.

I love me some good liver and onions. The two tricks to make sure they're great are to soak the liver in milk before cooking, and using Vidalia onions.

Liver is just one of those acquired tastes I think. It is like cheese. If you didn't grow up eating cheese, it can be a challenge to eat. Personally I don't eat organs. I just can't do it

Right before my mother passed away this past October, she craved circus peanuts, which she always loved and which the rest of us were indifferent to, at best (for me, the flavor is good, but the texture is a bit off). My aunt was able to find one bag, abandoned, on the bottom shelf at a CVS. My mother was thrilled. I think they actually might have been the last thing she ate before she passed. At least I never saw her eat anything after I took the empty bag out of her room.
They seem to be a gas station staple and little else now.

For me, the liver is foured and cooked with onions, and fresh mushrooms. Getting hungry just thinking about it. Then again I'm the one guy who gets the "Special Soup" at a Pho restaurant.

My mom made liver occasionally but nothing she did seemed to get my mind off that coppery taste. I also just don't like the idea of eating an organ like that for some reason. I know it has lots of nutrients and there isn't anything wrong with it, but I think I am mildly superstitious about it
