The Inevitable New Buffy Episode Thread (Spoilers after Sept 24)

Here there be vague spoilers

A spoiler about Istanbul (not Constantinople) which I won't quote because, well, that would be mean.

That was totally what I thought it was! Although I didn't guess the second part. Oh, this season is off to a galloping start, and I'm happy.

And I loved the Dawn training part, and the gift-wrapped weapon.

Hellmouth originally closed- um, I don't know that that was ever stated. The Master tried to open it, and failed, and the whole first season was about how he was trying to get out from where he was stuck, which would open the hellmouth as a side effect. Every other time someone tried to open it (like in The Zeppo, and one of those other fourth season episodes), they were starting from scratch because it was already closed.

That morphy guy needs a name, though. The Master, Angelus, the Mayor, Adam, Glory. 'That morphy guy' just doesn't resonate the same.

Okay some one do me a HUGE favor and spoil for me this season's opener. I don't get UPN and I'm STILL willing to Follow Josh around as LONG as there's some character depth...So tell me WHAT HAPPENED!!!

You Have Been Warned!!!!

So, opening Scene Instanbul. Young woman being chased down by mysterios cloaked guys. She gets away, then of course is caught. They pull out a knife and it's inplied they kill her.

Next, we see Dawn and Buffy in a graveyard. Buffy is training Dawn to kill a Vampire. Very funny stuff that won't translate well to this format so I'm not going to try.

Opening Credits.

We find ourselves in England Willow and Giles are in a field taking about the what she is doing over ther and that the her strong magic is a big part of her and not going away. THeir is a coven over their helping her.

Next, back in Sunnydale Xander pulls up to the Summers Abode in a nice car dressed in a suit. He shows Buffy the new plans to the New high school (Built on the old site of course) and shows her that the old library (the place where the hell mouth is ) is now under the new Principal's office.

Xander takes Buffy and Dawn to school, they meet the new principal who seems nice and pretty cool. Dawn goes to class, Buffy explores, and Xander is in charge of the final few construction projects at the store.

Buffy wanders into a girls bathroom sees dead things in the mirror and they blame her for not being able to save them.

Dawn's first class she also see's a dead person and freaks out. No one else of course sees the dead person. She goes to a bathroom (not where her sister is or her sister moved on). She finds nother young girl who also sees the undead things. Undead things attack them and drag them through the floor into the old basement (I think that's where they were).

Dawn uses a cell phone Buffy gave her to call Buffy. Buffy goes down there to try to find her. A bit of a maze down there and Dawn and the girl meet a boy down there.

Undead things fight buffy some, usual fun stuff. Buffy can't kill them not they they are good at fighting here either. THey block a door, buffy get past them opens door, revealing Spike.

Spike has soul and is not looking well. Probably something importnt there, but the phone rang and I missed some (but i have the epidsode on tape).

So, Buffy calls Xander and Xander finds a tailsman and destroys it thus makijng the undead things go away. Buffy brings kids out of Basement, Spike stays there.

Buffy talks to Prinicipal and is offered a job at the school as a part time school counsler. she takes job.

Episode ends with Spike talking to some morphy thing (it takes the form of all the badguys the show has had. They got all those actors and it was really cool looking). It seems something majorly bad is going to happen (like it does every season). Very vague and cryptic.

Got to feel bad for the actors playing Adam and the Master, Two hour of make up for two minutes on screen.

Could this "Morphy Guy" be the Evil that tempted Angel in the form of Jenny on the Christmas episode.

That's what I'm thinking, but at this point it's pure speculation. It also might have something to do with whatever Willow was trying to do to destroy everything at the end of last season.

The First Evil was one of my theories as well.

OTOH, one of my other theories is that there was no creature there at all, and we're just seeing the visualization of Spike's growing madness...

I'll just record this along side all the other little things you owe me

Buffy saw it in the Bathroom and just thought it odd. THis was, I believe, right before she saw the first undead people. And then either she thought of it later, or Spike said something. But the important thing is Xander saved the day.

Also, I forgot there was scene with Anyan and the other Vengence demon. They talked about how Anya just isn't the same as before. Anya thought it was similiar to a intervention and said should all her other demon friends be here for it. THe other lady said they were already in town.

Now, I don't know if that means there are many new demons around becasue of what is going to happen with the morphy demon (and another scene I fogot dealt with Willow feeling something bad from the Earth), or if the othe Vengence chick was just saying that Anya has no demone friends anymore.

 

[Maxwell's Demon]

Actually, Anya said, "Shouldn't all my demon friends be here." To which Hallie replied, "Oh, they are dear." Or something to that effect. Could mean many demons nearby, or it could mean that she is now Anya'a only demon friend.

Spike said something about them not being ghosts or zombies but "restless spirits" summoned by someone, and being bound to a talisman.
