The Mandalorian & Grogu Trailer

Something that occurred to me, while watching that trailer: It looks remarkably like the fake trailers that are produced by those Youtube AI mills. The main characters don't talk. Any actual dialogue is by characters who are not seen and the vocalizations that can be seen are incredibly simple. I think that's why I'm unimpressed with it; that mental link.

But that sort of thing is also relatively common for early teaser trailers. Look at Tron Ares, the only dialogue for the first trailer was a voiceover.

They do the sound editing after filming, and often re-record dialogue. Hence with Rogue One a load of the dialogue that was in trailers wasn’t in the movie.

The AI trailer faker is just imitating what humans have been doing since movie trailers were invented.

Broadly speaking, that is all AI can do because it doesn't think.

Anyway -- this is not a movie for me but I bet kids will love it.

While Andor was great and a huge success, I think it only reached a fraction of the audience a major Star Wars theatre release could have
That checks out. It's The Wire of Star Wars. Beloved by critics and a probably small-to-medium audience, but too much for many other fans. (Seriously, The Wire is amazing, but don't have any phones nearby when you're watching it; you will need to pay attention.)

Emphasis on this looking like the "AI mill" end of the AI trailer genre, where it's just a series of "look we have these characters" shots. It doesn't seem to reveal nearly as much plot and world-building as something like:
