I'm familiar with the revisions, of course, but the druid is one of the classes with the most revisions to it.
Am I the only person who thinks the druid is not only fine as-is, but incredibly kick-ass as-is???

This is a hijack, but I halfway agree with you. Druids are pretty kickass. But they're also illogically designed: the wildshape rules made no sense until the Masters of the Wild errata came out, the difference between animals and beasts was arbitrary and nonobvious to characters (why can a druid cast animal friendship on a dire lizard or a dire crocodile, but not on a dinosaur?) It's still unclear whether an awakened animal is subject to animal growth or other sells that target animals.

As for the spell list, I wouldn't mind a little more flexibility. Druids, more than any other class (IMO), have to choose the right spells for the job. If you choose well, you utterly rock (quench vs. fire-based creatures, transmute rock to mud when in a cavern, entangle in a forest, etc.) But your spells are so environment-specific that if you choose poorly, you're useless (quench vs. non-fire-based creatures, transmute rock to mud when in a worked-stone dungeon, entangle underground, etc.). But given the other strenghts of the druid, I won't mind if they don't change this, either.

Druids are pretty good. Still, I think a bit a tweaing could be done. Refine their weapons list (add scythe and bow), maybe change a couple of powers around.

I suspect (and hope) that the changes made to druids are along those lines and nothing drastic. Druids in full plate would be a disturbing thing, IMHO.

Edit (adding something topical):

I agree 1) pretty styling li'l dude. 2) That's not a gnome -- his nose is too small.

I think the point was crossed with 3E, if not prior to that, where gnomes and halflings have ceased to be unique and should be combined into a single diminuative race. Essentially, they are both little humans. The only differences are 1) Gnomes look distinctly characatured foppishly French (mini-Musketteer?) and 2) Halflings have no racial culture.

Dump halflings, and give gnomes normal Con and increased dex.

I don't like standard 3e gnomes, but I love his look. It looks more classic and a big improvement over the old, dated, bondage shtick that many of the iconics have now. Definitely a big improvement over Hennet. Hey, maybe if I'm lucky they'll update some of the old iconic art too.

In terms of druids, I agree that they are really powerful, but they wildshape fixes should go in and the trackless/trekking abilities that both druids and rangers have really need to be revised to be more group friendly. This is primarily a group game and they have a bunch of abilities that only work when alone.

"Gnomes and halflings ceased to be unique..."

And I'm thankful for that ! When unique mean pot-bellied, hairy-footed, big-nosed, pointy-hatted sidekick here only to make children under 5 laugh, I'm pretty happy to see this uniqueness disappear.

Down with hobbits, kenders and tinkers, let's go back to real gnomes and halflings.

If for you, they don't have a culture or an identity outside of being cheap comic relief, then I acknowledge you'd better not use them at all.

Merely little human ? Except for the fact they speak with animals, and are technically all wizards. Except the fact that an absolute majority of them are Good people. Except the fact they are not victim to hubris, not taking themselves too seriously and prefering to be ignored by others.

Humans are just the reverse of all that. If anything, elves and dwarves are closer to being "human in funny suit" than gnomes.

Well at least it's not half ogre... ;)

As for druids needing fixing...one the hand yes, on the other hand no. Regular D&D druids need a fix. Scarred Land Druids don't. ;)
