The Old School: AD&D 1e

On seeing the creature emerge from the tunnel, Lidia lets out an involuntary shrike. "Its not natural." she says.

Heeding Amirad's advice about not going near it, she fishes out her slingshot and takes a pot-shot, while still holding the light in her off-hand.

Amirad and Stubbs easily dispatch the remaining zombie, who slumps over, destroyed.

Lidia's sling stone embeds itself into the shell of the beast. It skitters forward, crawling on centipede legs until its entire length (about 10') comes out of the tube.

[sblock=OOC]
The creature closes range with Turthain, Amirad, Austin, and Stubbs. Lidia remains back 10' with the torch.

"Beautifully struck Turthain! Ware the beasts tentacles!"

Amirad deftly strikes out at the monster.

(OOC: here's hoping we win initiative and/or none of us are paralysed.)

In an attempt to avoid the tentacles, Austin will try to maneuver to the side of the creature and strike with his mace. He strikes the dirt with a mighty blow!

Sgt Stubbs maneuvers to the opposite side of Austin, "I'm not sure what you are doing with your blade, Austin, but keep doing it! I think you have the beast confused and vulnerable!"

OOC: Oops.. not sure how the second d20 was rolled. Must have hit the roll button twice. Regardless, I missed.

Thankful that she is protected by such doughty warriors, Lidia stays well back and makes sure they have plenty of light. She also keeps an eye on the tunnel to make sure that the thing has not got a mate.
