The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Poor sod, didn't have the common sense of a street rat. What bothers me is that he is here, alone." Hulan remarks.

[sblock=scott] Isn't armi in reference to weapons? Shouldn't it be braccia aperte? [/sblock]

After moving to pick up his fallen sling, amirad turns to the group standing with his back to the tunnel entrance.
"Well it seems this is a dead end. Not a particularly enlightening one either. Still we have eliminated one possible area of uncertainty. Well fought comrades. I take it no one is seriously hurt?" Amirad takes the time to meet everyones eyes.

"I see two potential options. One we return the previous chamber a take the pulley system up. Two we go back to the entrance chamber and try the initial branch." Amirad frowns

"Perhaps it might be best if we explore this level in it's entirety first. I hate the ides of something sneaking up behind us while some of us are on that platform or on the level above or below."

"I agree" said Mo, shivering visibly as the thought of more rats, or worse, sneaking up behind her.

"Let's finish off this level before we think about about going up
...or down" she adds in a worried tone of voice. "Haven't you heard any of those old tales? About the hero who wanders down into the cellar of the old house...and is never seen again in the sight of mortal man."

Her low booming tone of voice in this last phrase is replaced by a light chuckle as she attempts to lighten the mood.

"Well if rats' is all they have to fight in this place we'll certainly be triumphant. Again I say well fought! Our skills are certainly up to taking on far worse." Says Amirad, ever the optamiste.

"I do have one suggestion, perhaps Kels you might be able to bear Hulan's Lantern in your free hand. With that in the front and Lidia's torch in the back we should be better able to see what's ahead. Moreover Hulan would be able to make a greater contribution to the battle."

------------------

If there are no objections, Amirad will lead them back to the Main entrance chamber. He will pause before exiting the narrow burrow-tunnel to detect evil, in case something overheard the fight and came to investigate.

"I agree with Amirad, we should completely check this level before moving up or down. We still will need to be careful though, as something could alway come in behind us from outside."

Lidia then waits until everyone is ready to move on and resumes her place in the order. While she waits, she will keep making nervous glances at the roof.

Austin just silently moves with the group...not checking any one passage alone is just as dangerous as not checking any at all. "what ever attacked the miners, er, graverobbers, or what ever they sere doing, is surely still down here. and we will encounter it eventually."

(OOC: We may need to back up the action a bit.)

Mo looks through Doman's clothing and finds a lovely scroll case made from a single piece of ivory. Inside, there is a scroll!

She starts to pull the scroll out of the case when she feels something cold clasp her ankle. Startled, she pulls back, and Doman lies there, convulsing, and trying to get up.

Austin is shocked. Just moments before, he had confirmed that Doman was dead.
