I'm seeing the movie Sunday. Looking forward to it as big fan of the stage show. Starting this thread for people to talk about movie.

Well, I've never seen the stage production, but I've been subjected to the music far too often to have any interest in a movie made from the musical.

Going to see it tonight with some friends. I'll try and post my impression of it later on. I've never seen the musical and am only vaguely familiar with the original story, however, so my impression is more likely to be on how good of a movie it is, as opposed to how well the translation from stage to screen works.

Yes, and it's directed by none other than Joel "I'm gonna rape your childhood with rubber Bat-nipples" Schumacher.

Its a good story, lots of action for a musical. Reviews of the movie are mixed, but the general feeling is if you liked the stage version, you'll like the movie version.

Based soley on the trailer and the commercial for the soundtrack, my opinion is it will look good but sound horrible. I have never seen the musical but have a couple of friends who are fanatics so I was interested in seeing it. Then I heard the commercial for the soundtrack. UGH! After that, I lost all interest.
