The poster who cried troll (merged with "why troll?")

If they are half-fiendish they can avoid fire damage.
If they are half-dragon (red) they can avoid fire damage.
If they are half-dragon (green) they can avoid acid damage.

What if they're half-ass?

'Splain to someone who's out of the loop, mang. Is he OK? And why only rpg.net?
'coz he only plays Exalted these days? :D

Anyway, it's possible to troll without being a troll, if you know what I mean. I think saying that they have to be new accounts signed up for just to troll, or that their trolls have to be repeated are not in line with common usage of the word troll, at least around here. Sometimes even I find myself in a squirlish mood, and I post something that looking back at later, I'd be hard put to defend as not trollish, and I'm far from a new member with only 5 posts to my name.

I think the term originally came from the fishing term trolling, as in putting some bait on a line and riding along merrily in your boat waiting for something the bite. Of course, within D&D message boards, "Trolling" took on a whole new meaning...
That's where it came from, although it was used as a verb for a long time before I started seeing people referred to as trolls. I suspect USENET in the early '90s would have the first instances.

I'm feeling a tad snarky today. This is where I would say "Oh, then they are named [fill in the blank]" But I won't do that. I will, however, leave this where everyone else can fill in the blank for themselves. ;)

Hmm, half-ass template. I bet you could make a half-ass template and defend it as being mythologically inspired.

I tried to create a half-ass template but it didn't turn out very well at all. I guess you could say I succeeded. ;)

Is that how you create a monkey with four-asses? I'm just saying.
