Presumably you're poking around trying to find an artery not too deep under the scales somewhere? A tiny little exacto knife in the wrong place can leave a human in serious trouble, presumably the same principle applies to dragons?I've spent a lot of time in the kitchen and I just picture the tip snapping off. Also, can you get it deep enough to do damage? Even something intended for boar hunting would be almost underpowered.
