[sblock=OOC]Thats 2 successes, 2 failures. Cleverusername seems to have vanished(along with Son of Meepo a while ago, as H.M. said, so as soon as Mewness goes we'll go to a second round (assuming the check doesn't fail). We started with 7 players, so now we're at 5.

Eithal's actions put her in harm's way, so she'll suffer the consequences of failure in the skill challenge as well. However, it's also suitablly heroic, so the next person to make a check gets a +2 bonus.[/sblock]

Not trusting her own strength to get her across, and seeing that Eithal will have her hands full with the craftsman, Livia climbs up onto Eithal's broad shoulders.

[sblock=roll]Acrobatics 1d20+9+2=24[/sblock]
[sblock=DM]If the challenge fails, and this is all right with you, I'd like to use the athletics check I need to make to aid the craftsman in making his (i.e. I'll automatically lose the surge but give him a bonus hopefully)[/sblock]

One of the last supports washes away and the bridge groans, boards snapping as the last piece Eithal, Livia, and the craftsman are standing on slowly tilts towards the raging floodwaters...

[sblock=One roll to rule them all]Whoever goes next decides it. Succeed and the three get to safty, fail and they risk injury... or death.[/sblock]

Does using the same skill still get a -2? If not Kaz has +11 to perception.[/sblock]

[sblock=Iron Sky]Aid Another is out in the obsidian skill challenge system right? Are there any rules for using an AP to get a bonus/re-roll?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]This one isn't Obsidian style, this is standard style. If you see "Round 1" somewhere in it, it's Obsidian. If you see x successes before 3 failures, it's standard. Aid another is a possibility and no penalty for repeating check.[/sblock]

"Hayng on y'all!" Eithal throws the craftsman on Yimayngurr's back, and carries them both. She waits unitl the piling on which she is balanced sways close to the next one. With a series of calculated (and in some cases just plain lucky) leaps, she makes it back to the shore just as the last pieces of the bridge break apart and fall into the river's raging current, "Heah yew goh. Ah's a leetle worrihd bayack thayah, but yew're sayfe nayow." she bends down, gives the craftsman a friendly kiss on the forehead, and collapses in exhaustion.[sblock=Athletics]1d20+12=18 Squeeeeeeak!

I figured it'd come down to Eithal. She had a +12 Athletics, and I thought she got a +2 bonus from her last success, but realized too late that it went to Mewness. Whew! I rolled an 18 anyway.[/sblock]

The last bit of bridge breaks free and washes away behind Eithal and seconds later the waters begin to subside. The last scattering of ravens circle overhead and fly away to the west.

A minute later, the Master Mason rides back with the wagon, the horses still skittish, staring wild-eyed at the bodies, ears flattened back and stamping at the ground.

The Master Mason climbs off the wagon and looks around with obvious relief as she counts heads. "No one died? Well, no one who wasn't dead already I mean. You all did an amazing job, when the horses bolted I was afraid I'd come back to find you all dead."

She glances at the horizon, the clouds taking on a violet tinge as the sun nears the horizon. "We have a decision to make now, make camp a bit further on or press on to the tower. We'll probably get there just after sunset if we push hard. If we wait, well, those ravens headed towards the tower. I'm afraid to think of what it might mean for the militia there - if they are still alive that is..."
