The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

[sblock=El Jefe, Ryland: ] Go ahead. But if your spell doesn't work there is always a nice old fashioned beating to loosen a person's lips. Don't forget to have him tell us who hired him.[/sblock]

Enialis stands back a bit giving Ryland space to work.

Edit: Just a note.... 100th post woot!

Ryland will hypnotize the elf and then interrogate him. The big question: Who killed Archer?

Brimbor came to rather suddenly, before Ryland could begin his incantation. The first indication of consciousness that the pair perceived was when he opened his eyes, surveyed his person, and complained, "Look what you did to my shirt!" Ryland took that as a sign to begin the interrogation.

As Brimbor inspected his bonds, he protested, "I must say that this really isn't necessary. And I would like to..." The elf's voice trailed off quickly as Ryland cast a spell to bend the captive's will to his own. Jobe fought to resist, but in the end was no match for the little gnome's magic.[/sblock]

Ryland begins to ask the elf pertinant questions: Who hired him, Who killed archer and Flodal, What do you know about Brigit O'shalley or Rilla Wonder? Is Eppy or Archer's wife involved? Ryland pauses to let Enialis ask any questions that have eluded him.[/SBLOCK]

"I don't mind if you bore me. Tell me everything you know, and I'll let you know if any of it is useful."
Devlin sighs, looks around, then continues. "Ok, here it is. We're pretty sure it was Flodal Thursby who killed Furlong Archer. Thursby appears to be a muscle-for-hire type from Lathirn. Thursby was seen earlier that evening playing with a set of daggers whos description matches exactly the dagger found at the scene. Also, the poison on the dagger was wyvyrn poison, very expensive and very hard to get. We could find no prior connection between Thursby and Archer. We are thinking that someone hired Flodal to kill Archer, but we're not sure who, or why."

Devlin takes a deep breath while Vagan absorbs what was just said. "So, what do you have?"[/sblock]

I've information vegetable, animal and mineral

A vacant expression passed over Brimbor's face as the effects of Ryland's spell took hold. He responded to Ryland's question: "Nobody hired me, I work for myself. I am...independent!"
Salix said:
Who killed archer?
"I have no idea who killed Mr. Archer. I had assumed that Flodal Thursby was responsible."
Salix said:
and Flodal?
"Wilbur must have done it. Yes, Kamdar sent him, althought I must say that I am surprised that he succeeded."
Salix said:
What do you know about Brigit O'shalley?
"Brigit is a business associate of mine, or perhaps, as you might say, a former business associate. I should like to know where she is." At this point, a change came over his features as the spell began to wear off. [sblock=Rules Interpretation]Hypnotism has a duration of 2d4 rounds...so that's about all you get for one use of it.[/SBLOCK]Jobe glanced around as if in surprise, then he composed himself once again. "As I was saying, gentlemen, there is no need for this...confinement. And I should like to remind you of my genuine offer of five thousand Crowns, well five hundred Dragons, really, for the safe return of the ornament."[/sblock]

"So, what do you have?"
Vagan nodded in response. "That's not bad", he allowed. "Although our information reveals Thursby's origin as Monemvassia...it's not really important since his type gets around quite a bit. We're still looking for the other daggers...let us know if you find them. And the fletching on the bolts we pulled from Thursby? Griffon feathers. Not all that hard to come by, about a Crown for a dozen of them at any respectable magic shop, but distinctive." He grinned. "Let me know if you find anything else. It just might save you from being the guest of honor at a necktie party."[/sblock]

"So are you going to hand us the gold with one hand and stab us in the back with the other. I think we should turn this guy over to the guard for our attempted murders, Enialis. What do you think? Alright, tell us what happened with Archer. Was he involved with this beforehand, or did he just get sucked into this through the girl? Ryland waits for the elf and large man to respond.

OOC: If he doesn't like what he hears, he will hypnotize again and ask the remaining questions in addition to any questions Enialis might have. The big focus: Who is Wilbur and Kamdar, where can we find them, is Eppy or Archer's wife involved? What is the ornament? Why is it important?[/sblock]

"That's outrageous!, interrupted Brimbor. "I seek only the return of property that doesn't belong to you. When you do not wish to part with it for a fair price, what am I to expect?" After a moment when Brimbor and Ryland started shouting over each other, both paused.
Salix said:

Brimbor's confusion was evident. "The girl? What girl? I know nothing about how Mr. Archer got involved with all this, all I know is that he did. I am not surprised if things turned out badly with Thursby, he was not a man to cross and I am not sorry to hear he is dead."[sblock=Rules stuff: ]Brimbor won't remember what he was asked or how he responded when he was hypnotized.[/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=el jefe, Ryland: ]Agreed Ryland I think once we are done here we should turn him over to the guard. However I'd like to know. If no one hired you why in the blazes were you trying to kill us! What made you think it wise to pull a crossbow on the two of us at close range?[/sblock]

You obviously have me confused with someone else

Brimbor appeared perplexed by the accusation. "You can't be serious", he suggested. "I seek only the recovery of that which is missing. Now, since you are concealing it here, I assumed that either of you would rather part with it than be subject to the pain of an arrow. But if you'll note that there are two of you, you must be aware, yes?, that this would be a terrible way to initiate a double murder." After letting this sink in a moment, he continued. "Now would you be so kind as to release me from this...this...silliness?", he asked as he glanced over his bonds again.[/sblock]
