The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

[Sblock=El Jefe: ]Mr. Brimbol if you could excuse me a moment. I'll be right back.
Enialis walks out the door to the room and closes it behind him.

Eppy by all means you can do that. But before you go could you tell me Mrs. Archer's address.

If you could I would appreciate it.

Oh and Eppy, thanks alot for all the help you've been giving us here. I know that this has been a trying time for you.

Enialis places his hand on her shoulder
You go home and rest alright?

Assuming she doesn't give enialis any problems with getting information. He'll head back into the room with Brimbol.

I apologize for the interruption Mr. Brimbol. If you could, would you mind giving me a detailed account of what happened. Any abilities this orb might contain that would interest people in stealing it. Also do you know of any rivals or loved ones, or even people in general that might have an interest in the orb. Once we know just what occured we'll do our best to get investigate the issue and resolve it for you.

Also I understand that your knowledge on the Thursby, Archer murder case is limited. But if you might also tell me everything you know about Archer, Thursby, or another by the name of Rilla Wonder, or Brigit O'shally. Anything at all that might help our investigation it would be appreciated.

Enilais pulls out his journal and skips a few pages ahead. He'll title it The Oblivious Orb Abduction.[/sblock]

Eppy hardly blinked. "Why, sure Mr. McVayne. She lives on Livingston, two houses north of Broadstroke, on the east side", the ever efficient secretary replied.

Eppy's demeanor took on a tone that promised that someday she'd make a good mother. "Now, don't you worry about me, Mr. McVayne. You just find out who killed Mr. Archer, that'll make things square with me." Eppy gathered her things, and handed Enialis the key. "You lock up when you leave now, ok?", she half asked, and half demanded. Then she was out the door and down the stairs before he could properly reply. Enialis returned to the inner office with Ryland and the strange elf.

Mr. Brimbor shifted in his seat as he replied, "Well, you know, it has simply come up...missing! It is said to be very valuable, it is not surprising that someone would take such a thing." Enialis noted this and continued.

Once again, the stranger was less than forthcoming. "Well, in a manner of speaking, there might be several people who would be interested in the ornament. The problem is, ah, not that so few would be interested, ah, but that there would be so many. I suggest that you begin by searching for the item, and then...well, you will see that the people you seek will turn up, as out of thin air."

Enialis bowed his head to conceal his bemusement (and chagrin), then continued:

[sblock=DC15+ Spot Check: ]Brimbor kept a poker face at the mention of Archer, Thursby, and Wonder. But his left eyebrow twitched ever so slightly at the mention of Brigit Oshally.[/sblock]Jobe harumphed as he shifted his cane from one hand to the other. "Well, what I know is what is posted on the street corners and whispered in taverns. Although I had heard of this Thursby before I saw his name on that notice...indeed, were he still alive, he might be worth talking to about this property." Brimbor's tone struck the pair as more of an accusation than a suggestion.[/sblock]

[sblock=El Jefe: ]Devlin sighs deeply, man, I must be losing my touch. He finishes his drink, pockets his coin, and leaves. Back on the streets of Orussus, he ponders his next move.[/sblock]

And the answer is...?

[sblock=Enialis, Ryland: ]Brimbor fondled his cane a bit more during the silence that followed. "So you will return the orb, Mr., ah?", he asked, not knowing precisely which of the late Mr. Archer's partners he was addressing.[/sblock]

[sblock=El Jefe: ]Sorry El Jefe was trying to give Salix a shot to make the Dc15 spot since I got a 4. I figured he would've been back by wednesday. But ah well.

Mr. Brimbol. I find myself uneasy as it seems you are not telling me everything you know about this orb. however my partners and I will be willing to accept this job for the fee of 5000 crowns. If you could leave us an address to which we might contact you should something come up. [/sblock]

Hey, no problem. I thought he'd be back by now, too.

The elf's reply left both adventurer's speechless. He stood and suddenly drew a small crossbow from the folds of his cloak, and shifted his aim from Enialis to Ryland and back. "Gentlemen", he announced, "You will please clasp your hands together at the back of the neck. I intend to search your offices. I warn you, if you attempt to prevent me, I shall certainly shoot you."[sblock=Enialis: ]You are flatfooted. However, you notice that Jobe's skills with weaponry are certainly lacking. Even though he is at point-blank range, he seems to have trouble aiming the thing accurately at either you or Ryland. You suspect a concerted effort between the two of you would easily overpower him with minimal chance of damage to yourself.[/sblock][sblock=Ryland: ]You are flatfooted. [sblock=El Jefe: ]Devlin wanders the streets, trying to make sense of everything that had happened in the past 24 hours. He finds himself in the area of Furlong's death. Acting on a hunch, he makes his way to the nearest City Watch office. Walking through the front door, he approaches the nearest officer he sees. "Greetings, can you tell me if Officer Vagan is available?"[/sblock]

[SBLOCk= El Jefe: ]ooc: How far away from the desk is Brimbol currently? I'll state my action after knowing this.[/sblock]

A patrolman who seemed vaguely familiar to Devlin answered the question. "Officer Vagan is out making rounds, and should be back here any moment. Can I help you?"[/sblock]

Ooc: He's within arm's reach of the desk, opposite Ryland. You're near the end of the desk, about halfway between the two.[/sblock]
