The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

ooc: sorry, been busy here at work.

Devlin organizes his thoughts, then expresses them. "I think Brigit came to Orussus looking for the orb. Jobe, her "former partner", followed her here thinking she already had the orb. Kamdar & Wilbur are with Jobe, and they eliminated Flodal thinking he was helping Brigit conceal the orb. Jobe, Kamdar & Wilbur realized Brigit doesn't have the orb after the fact, but found out she was working with Furlong. They then assumed Furlong may have had the orb, or known of its whereabouts, hence Jobe's visit to the office. Whatever this orb is, it's obviously very valuable, valuable enough that two people have been killed in the search for it. Let's go get Wilbur and see if we can get a couple more pieces of the puzzle."

"Hmmm... I missed the part where Flodal and Kamdar were competitors. Maybe there isn't anyone else out there to be worried about. Let's grab Wilbur and see where he can lead us. The only thing I worry about is if none of these people know where the orb is, how do we put our hands on it? It would bring a lot of, uh, compensation?, the gnome replies, his eyes lighting up when discussing the financial repercussions of locating the orb. The greedy side of his nature that had been held in check for so long was coming to light. Ryland slams his fist into an open palm,"I don't care if I have any magic left, I got by without it for a long time in tougher scrapes than this Wilbur will pose. "

OOC: Dungannon: I'm the last guy you need to apologize to about work getting in the way :D. You've been carrying the freight on this adventure. Ever thought about our Living Supers campaign? We could use more good players/GMs.

Devlin makes his way back downstairs, Ryland following close behind. Before they reach the common room, he loads the hand crossbow again and conceals it beneath his cloak. Once in the common room, he whispers to Ryland. "Go let Enialis know what's going on, I'll try to get Wilbur out of here."

Pasting a big smile on his face, Devlin saunters over to the diminutive ruffian and sits down across from him. "Evening, my good man. Care to have a word with me, someplace a little more...private?"

The man's face turned a definite shade of red as he stared at the approaching rogue, and if anything turned a shade deeper when the man sat beside him. "The only word I have for you is 'Beat it!' I told your sawed-off pal to shove off, and I'm telling you too! Shove off, or I swear your gonna get it!" The baby-faced man seemed to be unable to make up his mind...should he double up his first to cuff Devlin, or reach inside his clothing to use something more substantial?

"Let's see what Devlin's play is, Enialis. I liked my idea with the girl better, but by the looks of this guy, he probably wouldn't take the bait anyway.", the gnome says with a smirk. "If we have to we might have to ge creative."

Devlin continues to smile at the little man, but the smile doesn't reach his eyes. "Careful, Wilbur. I, quite literally, hold your life in my hands right now. Now you can stand up and accompany me to someplace a little more conducive to a private conversation, or you can sit there, give me grief, and die for your sins. The choice is yours."

Devlin is pointing the crossbow at Wilbur under the table.

Wilbur's eyes narrowed. "If you don't put that thing away right now", he threatened, "I'm gonna put it some place real uncomfortable!" The young thug started to reach inside the folds of his cloak.

"Keep your hands where I can see them, and everything will be fine." Devlin motions with his free hand for Enialis and Ryland to come over.

ooc: at any sign of trouble or aggression, Devlin will fire the crossbow.

Ryland moves to the table with Enialis in tow. "We've got the drop on you, lad. I'd do as the man says unless you want to end up in the boneyard."

OOC: I really have to apologize. We had another fire and I got roped into doing the same job I did on the last one. I'll try to post a little, but will likely be spotty until the weekend. It's going to be one of those years, :\ . Ryland will support Devlin in any way possible.

As Ryland and Enialis rose to assist Devlin, Wilbur scowled and reached inside the folds of his cloak. Devlin saw the unmistakeable outline of a small crossbow underneath the clothing. "He can't be serious", thought Devlin as his trigger finger tightened on his own weapon, "Nobody could be that stupid!"[sblock=Roll For Initiative]Wilbur 9
Devlin's initiative is the only one that will count this round, although Ryland should roll in case there is some action for him to take next round.[/sblock]
