OOC: I meant that I would do so during the few days we'd been traveling together.OOC: Raster won't be around much longer unfortunately.
Well that makes two of us then.Raster smiles as Jacoby makes the final ascent. "Well, young hero," he says. "You've made it to what some call the first threshold. I dunno about stuff like that."
Jacoby sets eyes on the small building, the chapel from his dream, just a little farther away then he remembers."But here we are at the plateau. I've no doubt you'll recognize this place." Jacoby sees before him a large, flat, snow-covered plateau. The far side is sparsely forested, and there is a small building adjacent to the trees.
Jacoby blushes and swallows several times while trying to catch his breath. "Well, ah, thanks for all your help Raster. You're the kindest and most helpful bear I've ever met. I, ah, don't really know what else to say...""This is where we part ways, Jacoby," Raster says. "You have great things ahead of you, Bahamut willing."
Jacoby turns to look in the indicated direction. He squints to see through the glare of the white snow underfoot. He turns to ask Raster who it is only to discover the bear gone.Raster's ears perk up and he sniffs the air. "I think you've got company." The bear points a large paw towards a figure with a horse standing a few hundreds yards from Jacoby's position.
Jacoby once again raises a hand to wave to this latest sudden departure of an unusual guide. "Uh. Bye Raster!" Jacoby calls out after the departing creature. Turning once more towards the distant stranger, Jacoby slowly wraps Amber's leash around his hand and starts to walk towards the human. I wonder what this one's going to be like. With my luck it's the horse who's going to be the talkative one. Well, horse or human, I sure hope this guide is going to be willing to answer some questions. I'm getting pretty tired of this divine mystery routine. C'mon Lady. Jacoby says to Amber. When he's a few dozen yards away from the armored human Jacoby raises a hand high over his head and calls out: "Hi! I'm Jacoby..." The hin lowers his hand uncertainly. "...from Amberlea." he says as he jerks a thumb over his shoulder. "This here is Amber..." he says motioning to his dog mount. "She doesn't talk, uh, at least not yet... So you're another guide of the Great Dragon right?" he finishes uncertainly. The bear rumbles away, down the mountain trail and out of view, leaving Jacoby and Amber alone to ponder their next actions.
