The Troubadour's Travels - Low Magic [D&D 3.5/G'n'GR] [Recruiting]

Well, you've got speaking elvish free as it's your main language, so you could with an investment of two skill points (one rank) speak and be literate in Elvis, and speak and be literate in Sabrian (or speak Sabrian and another language without being literate in either).

Speak Language is a Class skill for scouts, according to Crystalkeep. Does that mean it'd require only one point for total literacy in Elvish and then two for the nearby human tongue?

Hahaha :)

But yes, if it's a class skill, it's one point for literacy and two for the human tongue. But two are gained from high int too.

Damn, sorry if this seems confusing to you. We've always gamed like this and to me, it feels far more natural than the RAW way. If you want, we could skip the language home rules (except for "no common language"), I just find them so simple and (for lack of a better word) obvious.

I don't mind learning, especially since I'm halfway through understanding it.

Okay. Lia has +2 bonus to Int. I invested 2 points into Speak Language, and Speak Language is a class Skill.

How many languages can Aliandrys be fully literate in?

Skills edited to gain literacy, maneuvers edited to get some use out of the swordsage-exclusive disciplines while retaining low-magic flavor (let me know if this is problematic), equipment added. I think the sheet is complete now: do a final run-through and let me know if anything needs to change.

@Theroc: She can be fully literate in two languages.
(Or be literate in one and speaking, but not literate, an additional two.)

@Toptom: Changes seem fair. However, how are you supposed to use Wolf Claw effectively without TWF? Or does it negate two weapon penalties? (And you don't even carry another weapon, though you of course could use whatever is at hand at the moment).

These seem to be wrong in your sheet though:
Defense should be +7 (+3 Reflex, +2 Dex, +2 Wis)
Fort save should be +4 (+1 base, +3 con)*

*Saves are calculated as 1/2 char level, +2 if it's a good save in any of your classes. Solves too low bad saves and multiclass issues.

Oh, and to both TopTom and Theroc: Please post your chars in the world/char thread here.

And it's worrying that Seph has disappeared (hasn't written for three days). While we could do the adventure on three people, as you fill all the basic roles, it would have been great to have one or two more. I know that three days isn't an awful lot, but if that's the average of how often he can post, it might be too little.

Wolf Fang Strike both explicitly allows the secondary attack to be unarmed and specifies penalties overriding normal TWF ones. Additionally, a number of FAQ and errata rulings have made it clear that two-weapon fighting with unarmed strikes is perfectly legitimate even under normal, non-ToB circumstances. The save edits have been made.

Ah, I see then. Just remembered the "there is no off-hand for a monk" thingy, and didn't see it specifying it. Anyways, seems fine.
