The Troubadour's Travels - Low Magic [D&D 3.5/G'n'GR] [Recruiting]

Well, the threads up. Added som information on Alarinn too, since it's probably the homeland of Therocs character. Actually, right now there's more info on Alarinn than on Consaber and Thalamur, and no info on the semi-independent Tokon. But I'll get around to posting more info on this too as time goes. Translation takes some time, since English isn't my main language.

EDIT: Oh, forgot linky.

EDIT2: Theroc, got the weight of a carwelan now. It's 3 lbs, so it's very light for it's size. Picture of a Thism elf (another race) holding a carwelan sword.

Almost done, sorry for the delay. Would it be possible for Aliandrys(my elf[unless the name is too out there for Learam]) to be the child of one of the more prominent clans in the House of Council? (to explain her wealthy background)

Okay, crunch being placed up for review(mostly done), biography will follow. Another question for String.

Whether Aliandrys would be affiliated with the hiring organization depends on what she knows about them. Can you give more information regarding them so we can know whether or not our characters are mercenary or members?

I forgot to place up the soak, and I think I screwed up the defense calculations, since I think I counted armor towards 'defense' rather than 'soak'... I'll re-review later if no one doublechecks me though.

Hi Theroc.

Firstly I like your template.
Secondly, let me help you with some of your issues -

Defense: +6 = 1(DM) +3(Dex) +2(Shield)
Touch : +2 = Defense -4
Flat Ft: +3 = 1(DM) +2(Shield)
Soak : 5 = 3(Armor) +2(Con)

Notes/Changes needed:
1. (DM) Defense Modifier is equal to your BAB
2. Fort modifier should be +2
3. Longbow damage is 1d8. Put range of 100 ft.
4. Choose favored enemy
5. Bluff, diplomacy, and sense motive -2
6. Spot, Listen, and Search +2
7. Balance, Climb, Escape Artist, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Sleight of Hand, and Tumble -1 due to armor
8. Swim -2 due to armor
9. Change gp to sp in equipment

Looks nice! You can all go to this thread:
http://www.enworld.org/forum/plots-places/264556-troubadours-travels-setting-characters.html.
On background, you might want to check out the section on Alarinn, Theroc. While you don't have to be from Alarinn, most Léaram are.

and post them there. Wysiwyg is right on the calculation, except that your base defense is equal to BAB or base Reflex; in this case, your reflex is higher, so your base defense is +4. Your Defense is +9 totalt.

It's calculated:
Base Reflex or BAB + Dexterity + Shield + Size + Any other mod except natural or armor.

EDIT: Forgot to say - I have decided that you are hired by the organization as mercenaries rather than being part of it, for several reasons.

I intended for her to be from Alarinn... that's why I asked about being part of the one house. I checked out the information, but before delving deep, wanted to check the basic premise with you

Edit: FYI, if I seem snappy/stupid atm, it's because I'm so sleepy I can't figure out how to word things... I'm not being snarky or anything.

Theroc, I made another mistake. Your PC is using a light shield. Her DB is +1 for it not +2. Therefore your Defence is +8. Sorry.

Just so you know, we both have the same Defence and Soak values - and I'm the "front-line" bait. Don't be too shy in joining me from time to time.

That's rather ironic... though, makes me glad to know I won't be too easy of pickin'z if it comes to a close-up brawl. ~Dances around her opponent in circles, cutting for bonus damage!~ Might be hard to Skirmish if they close, unless I'm fighting 1v1 and willing to draw AoO's.

@Wysiwyg: It might be an idea for you to prepare the Stone Bones manouver for more durability in combat. Also, the reason for Theroc being as durable as you is simple and two-fold; firstly, multiclass chars often have higher saves (especially at low levels) and he also has the Wealthy Background feat, which is very front loaded (much like how toughness is in regular D&D). In a couple of levels, or when you get your hands on heavier armor, you'll catch up.

However, if you're all okay with it, we could do another way of saves calculations that is more simple, less difference between good and bad saves, and more balanced in multiclass respects:
Saves equal 1/2 your character level, and if you have the save as a good save in any class, you get a +2 base save bonus.
So your chars will have base saves of:
Kareus: 3/1/1 (instead of 3/0/0)
Aliandrys: 3/3/1 (instead of 4/2/0)
Lucas: 1/3/3 (instead of 0/3/3)

Stone Bones: only good for 1 round. Bottom line: I need good armor.
Saves: I'm OK with either options.

PS: there are 2 posts already from PCs in the game thread.
