Too bad the new look doesn't help the quality of the content there.
Oh, no you dit'n't! :D

Actually, I love the Wizards' D&D pages' content. These guys do know how to keep their customers coming back for tidbits, and it shows on their web forums just how successful a streategy it is. In particular, being a fan of Eberron as I am nowadays, Keith Baker's Dragonshards articles offer some excellent material to drop into my games - The Heirs of Dhaakan article already gave me some ideas my players are going to regret... :)

Actually, let me rephrase that.

The new look of the message boards doesn't help the contect there. I never had a problem with the WotC site, which I actually think has very good content (especially the free adventures).

I grew tired of the message boards though. Just the same stuff over and over again: is the fighter underpowered, is the cleric overpowered, sorcerer revisions, questions about how sneak attacks and AoO's work, looking for the most abusive combo in the new WotC crunchy book, etc. Yawn.

I can agree here, and IMO what you are seeing there is the result of a higher signal-to-noise ratio than on other forums, coupled with the fact that they are highly successful forums, with possibly twice the membership we have here. The result is a higher percentage of posts like those, coupled with just plain MORE of all posts in general. There are still some real gems in there, but it takes a bit of sorting.

They lumped the Planes and the Deities forum together, I'd rather have put the Deities board with the Epic one and left the Planes alone.
