I would prefer to have a non-illustrated book ASAP and wait for the printed version to see illustrations. I never print pdf books anyway as it uses too much ink.

The best option for me would even be a rtf or doc version of the book, which would enable me to print only the parts of the book that I need more easily than with pdf files... I liked the txt file that was sold with the Book of Eldritch Might II as it enabled me to do just this. However, rtf or doc files are a bit more formatted, which would enable the user to print the document in this format and still have a nice layout...

In short, I'd prefer to have a book that looked good and would be easily usable in its electronic format without illustrations and wait for the printed book to see a beautiful book...

The sooner the better

I would definitely prefer the book with no illustrations first. As much as I like a nice presentation, I am more interested in the context. I am not even sure I'll spare the 5$ to upgrade it before I print it. For me, 15$ isn't that cheap - in Israel that currently would buy me something like three movie tickest. Not much, but not pocket change either.

(Yes, I prefer my pdfs printed)

Hey all!
This is my first post and I'd just like to say I've been following this project for a very long time. I just thought it was about time to add some input. I personally would like the unillustrated version first and then later by the upgrade. That is if I had a credit card. But I'll absolutely by the hardcover edition.

BTW, great job U_K. I certainly hope everything works out with the publisher.

Hi all! :)

Tried to post this earlier...I see a few more posts since then, I'll get to those in a moment.

Thanks for all the replies to my question so far!

To be 100% honest, illustrations are always nice, but if I had a choice between a $10 unillustrated and a $15 illustrated version, I'd personally go for the $10 copy. The reasoning strickly being a greedy one, in that I'd rather save my $5.

I am for a version without artwork as soon as possible!

It is a pity that you dropped Persian Pantheon chapter, can you post new version of WPS contents like you did before?

Absolutely...albeit in a short while. ;)

The Persian Mythos chapter I imagine will see the light of day sometime in the future.

Do you touch the subject on which Deities can have Druids?

I had mentioned the option was open to Nature Deities.

Is Elder Elemental a Quasi-Deity in your rules? It doesn`t seem right to me, look at their mental scores, not to mention elementals always seemed pretty animalistic to me.

We know that Elemental Lords/Deities exist - therefore it is reasonable to balance such 'spirits' with Outsiders.

Remember also that such Elder Elementals will likely have their abilities augmented.

By the way what alignment would you give to Warhammer`s "Chaos" Gods, it seems to be CE, even Tzeencht who as epithany of Chaos should be CN from Dungeons and Dragons point of view.

I would say they are all Chaotic Evil. Tzeentch is probably Chaotic Evil (Neutral)

I'll definately mention it to the publishers - though I think they already have these ideas catered for.

Thanks for the input all. :)

I think I'll just weigh in with the majority and say cheap unillustrated pdf as soon as possible, and then take some time making the hardcover look nice.

That seems to be the general consensus (at least within this thread) so far.

Even at $15 the work itself is easily the most competitively priced marketed .pdf on the market (that I am aware of).

$15 (about £11 I guess) would get me two and a half cinema tickets myself, so our take on economics would seem to be similar.

Remember also that to buy both Deities & Demigods and the Epic Level Rules will cost you almost $70.

One of the good things with .pdfs is that you can print the elements you want.

illillustrated or unillustrated

Hey Krusty old chap!
I would prefer to get the unillustrated first, after we have been waiting what at least 3/4 of a year.

Hey! Welcome to the boards! Enjoy your stay! :D

...and thanks! I appreciate both the interest and your opinion mate! :)

It seems almost everyone so far is in favour of that idea.

For people without credit cards (with whom I empathise - primarily because I don't have one yet myself) I may have an alternative. But those interested will have to email me.

Hey thanks!

Some of the features may not have the same impact until you see the artwork for them; notably monsters and deities so I am looking forward to the eventual hardcopy myself!

Hey! The works not done, don't thank me yet! :D

But its all coming together nicely though.

I am confident it will.

I guess I just better make sure its worth the wait then - eh!? ;)

So Talos and Malar can`t have Druids due to WPS rules?

I have something tricky for you: try to atribute portfolios to very broad Racial Gods in PHB, especially Larethian and Moradin!
