Hi Lord Talos mate! :)

I am not personally familiar with Glorantha; though obviously I have done a little research into mythology myself! ;)

The dominant power on Glorantha is the Lunar Empire which worships the Reaching Moon (Glorantha is REALLY COOL BTW, I wish they'd do a d20 adaptation!) :)
The Lunar Empire is Roman-esque, also they have a bunch of Chaos creatures like the Moonbat (?) so it has an urban and un-natural sort of ethos. It tends to be up against more barbaric, 'natural' realms so I guess there's a dichotomy there. Greg Stafford its creator is excellent at using real-world mythology, influenced by Joseph Campbell I think (Hero With A Thousand Faces) to create fantastically rich worlds.

Death + Peace: Only by surrendering to deaths embrace can you find eternal peace and tranquility. (eg. Off the top of my head no idea )

This fits Judge Death from the Judge Dredd comics (probably a hero-deity in WPS terms).

Hello, Upper_Krust!
These are great news that the WPS will find a publisher! :)

Maybe you can post a few other lists? (such as the pantheons for which you detail pantheon powers?)

Hi all, been very busy the last 24 hours or so, sorry for not updating, I'll explain it all in a day or two. ;)

Hello Impeesa mate! :)

Fire + Winter: God of nuclear war. :D

His quote could be (unashamedly taken from Knights of the Dinner Table): "When your the last man standing, and still packing nukes you don't need experience points!" :D

But I can imagine Mooon and Nature together! Actually Selune, only moon deity in Dungeons and Dragons I know, seems to be quite close to Nature and Nature Gods.

Selunes portfolio is described thus:

Moon, stars, navigation, navigatores, wanderers, seekers, good and neutral lycanthropes.

Her domains are: Chaos, Good, Moon, Protection, Travel.

LordMelkor{Talos} said:
How would you treat Selune, Talos and Malar in terms of portfolios?

Selune: Moon + Travel (aspect of Time)
Talos: Chaos + Storms (aspect of Thunder)
Malar: Hunting (aspect of Skill) + Moon. It is clear from Malars description that he is directly opposed to Nature Gods.

I would say Nature and Entropy/Destruction for Talos

Destruction is an aspect of Chaos.

LordMelkor{Talos} said:
however Malar could have Nature as well as Moon!

I don't think so, its pretty clear hes a hunter and slayer of animals for its own sake, hes technically also a lycanthrope so he fits the Moon comfortably

Is Nature portfolio connected with both Animal and Plant domains?

Yes.

Sounds interesting. Do you own a copy?

I suppose he is only a minor death! ;)

Hello Knight Otu mate! :)

Thanks! :)

We are in discussions at the moment. We won't be signing any contract (so I can't technically confirm who it is yet) for a few weeks until I send them a copy of the work, but things are progressing nicely so I don't forsee any problems.

This aspect of things has been reduced in scope slightly. So coverage is generic rather than specific.

Another point we were not happy with was the immesity of the product (remember I was never comfortable exceeding 272 pages); so the chapter on Persian Mythos has been divorced from the main body of work. However, we still plan (if all goes well) to release this work on its own merits at a later date, it just won't be within the main body of rules.

Questions for you all.

Hi all! :)

One of the elements I have discussed with the potential publishers is the release date of the work (.pdf). Specifically, will it arrive before Deities & Demigods. The primary reasoning for releasing the work before D&Dg is not to rush it to the market; but rather to avoid any subsequent cries of plagiarism or copyright infringement in the plausible event aspects between the two are similar.

This throws up a dilemma since the only way we can conceivably release the work before D&Dg is without interior artwork.

While the notion in itself is not a major disaster, numerous other .pdfs are released without interior artwork (Librum Equitus for example); it does seem somewhat unproffessional and we are chagrinned to do so - though it may be a necessary evil under the circumstances!?

The option I have presented (which is what I want your opinions on) is the following:

- Firstly the work is released in unillustrated format (272 pages) before D&Dg (price $10)

- Subsequently (when artwork is completed, lets say within 10 weeks of the first release) the work is rereleased in illustrated format (price $15)

- Additionally an upgrade is made available (at this time) to those who purchased the first product featuring ONLY the illustrated pages. (price $5)*

*The reason this works is that the document is already spaced to accomodate the artwork (don't worry there are no gaping holes, remembering also that I am using a font size and layout at least comparable to Core Rulebook word density). So these 'new' pages could easily be printed out and dropped into place.

Does this seem like a fair solution?

So the questions I put to you all are:

1. Would you still buy the unillustrated version?
2. Would you rather just wait for the illustrated work?
3. Would you prefer just to wait for a published 'hardcopy'?

Thanks for your time in advance! :)

I should probably make this a poll on the General Discussion Forums, is the poll feature still active? (I don't see it) and has anyone used it before? (I imagine its relatively straightforward).

To be 100% honest, illustrations are always nice, but if I had a choice between a $10 unillustrated and a $15 illustrated version, I'd personally go for the $10 copy. The reasoning strickly being a greedy one, in that I'd rather save my $5.

I'd get the unillustrated version first just to get the rules into my grubby little hand, and then an illustrated version later whether it be pdf or in print.

I am for a version without artwork as soon as possible!

It is a pity that you dropped Persian Pantheon chapter, can you post new version of WPS contents like you did before?

Do you touch the subject on which Deities can have Druids?

Is Elder Elemental a Quasi-Deity in your rules? It doesn`t seem right to me, look at their mental scores, not to mention elementals always seemed pretty animalistic to me.

By the way what alignment would you give to Warhammer`s "Chaos" Gods, it seems to be CE, even Tzeencht who as epithany of Chaos should be CN from Dungeons and Dragons point of view.
