The worst Roleplaying game ever!!!

Don't forget about the "Dungeons and Dragons" game. I was reading about it from some information from Jack Chick, and it sounds pretty bad. It uses real spells, is played by devil worshippers, and makes teenage kids commit suicide.

I've heard FATAL tossed around here for awhile now, but never knew it was available as a free download. I think basking in its awfulness sounds like a good Sunday afternoon activity. ;)

My vote for Worst. Game. Ever. would have to be World of Synnibarr. I've read the rules (but never played the game), and they were truly terrible -- particularly the umpteen-step process of hard-to-fail rolls and other activities you undertake when a PC stands a chance of dying. As I saw it, there's essentially no chance that any PCs would die, ever. Sweet!

In terms of games I've actually played (run, in this case): Rifts takes the cake. Apart from some excellent artwork and a smattering of cool ideas, Rifts is an unplayable mess (IMO).

Hold one FATAL is free? Can't be the worst then IMHO. To be the worst you have to at least pay for it. Then regret you ever bought it.

Don't bask in it too long - at least not if you love your actual brain cells. About ten minutes was long enough for me to put it in my column of worst games ever...

World of Synnibar, which I did purchase a copy of, is the worst I ever paid money for... But I am glad to own a copy to remind myself of just how bad it can get.

Yeah, but the DMs are so damn hot...

Anyone played "SenZar"? I haven't played it myself, so I can't really comment on it, but it was lambasted pretty bad on Usenet a few years ago. It sounded like an attempt by Beavis and Butthead to make an Epic-level Heavy Metal RPG.

I followed the link to the "Hybrid" site, and was reminded of the Timecube web site...which the Hybrid site links to, as well as a Timecube RPG :)

Has anyone yet mentioned Battle Lords of the Twenty-Seventh Century. I picked a copy of it up at the "sell anything" part of a con for... i think three dollars. It took me four hours to make a character, most of that time flipping back and forth through the manual.

Oh, and once I did, he turned out to be unplayable, thanks to both the lack of cohesive combat rules (they just sort of arnt there), and the fact that, somehow, I rolled on the "random background" charts that I was both a universe-famous Astroball player, and wanted dead-or-alive in 99% of the solar systems in the universe. Ooopppss.

Oh, and I was a shape changing, psionic matrix weilding mean mofo, too.

All at... 1st level. Oh wait... there are no levels... and no CRs, and... oh man, my head hurts.
