The worst Roleplaying game ever!!!

Woohoo..I found it eventually

To calculate the distance between stars, the formula is D = ( Xdiff^2 + Ydiff^2 + Zdiff^2)^0.5.

Is this what you mean carnifex?

I have a feeling that the EN World maths community are going to flock here to frown and express how easy this formula is.

Just bear in mind i was 13 at the time.

Half the kids in my math are 13 (just so you know, I'm 14), and we're doing 3D coordinate mapping right now. 20 problems using that equation every day, and the pained parts of your brain just turn numb after a while. ;)

And, uh, shouldn't it be D =?( Xdiff^2 + Ydiff^2 + Zdiff^2)? I don't see where the ^0.5 fits in.

Oh, and, to keep on topic . . .

The gist of that thread is the same as this one: Synnibar sucks. FATAL is worse.

I haven't read any of the generally accepted "worst" games, but of the ones I actually own -- I seriously dislike MERP -- not only is the gameplay agonizing, but the system does absolutely nothing to promote a Tolkien-like experience. I dislike the original Champions game quite a bit. I don't much like Shadowrun, although I'd hardly call it a candidate for worst game ever. Hmmm... I guess I don't have a lot of really bad ones. Just ones that aren't nearly as good as some others. :)

Worst for me wasn't as much the game as the two DMs. (Love the Game) Torg introductionary adventure.

Played it in a small group and had a blast. Played it again with 20+ drunken rowdy college kids with two DMs whom had never bothered to review the rules- much less the adventure.

Had three players with the Horshack behavioraial problem.-

"OWH! OWH! OWH! ME ME ME ! I WANT TO KILL THE SHARK I WANT TO PLEEEEEASE! I'll shot it with...no guns...I'll melt it with...no..."

Horrible....just horrible.

I actually spent money on Space Opera, though. I never actually played it, but I remember you had to pick particular college courses for your character in order to have certain occupations.

Odd, I remember Space Opera rather fondly. I bought every suppliment for it I could find. Then again I did tend to 'wing it' for the "to hit" type modifiers.

Of course I admit that this fondness could simply be the filtering of many many years between now and when I last played it.

Worst that I actually tried to play? First edition Traveller. First time, after rolling up a character for 1 1/2 hours, he died DURING character creation. Second time only 1/2 hour into creation. Maybe more to do with the gm's trying to teach me the game, or my misunderstanding what to do, but still...:o

I'm going to have to go with Wraith here.

I'm dead...screwed...and sinking further into decay of the soul. Umm...thanks. Oh what's that? You say all of my friends are like this too...

Gee, swell

Sorry, guys. It's all about Spawn of Fashan. :D

Oh, come now, PCat. F.A.T.A.L. is the standard by which all other RPG's must be judged for "ye liveliest awefulness."

The standard by which I would judge worst is this:

"If you were stranded on a desert island, with your four best players and only TWO RPG games and their supplements, which one would you rather play: F.A.T.A.L., or (game B)?

The game which causes an answer of "I would rather play FATAL, than that game," deserves the award.
