Timeline - any reviews?

Any word on the movie Timeline and if its any good? Will it become a classic of DnD geekdom?

Time travel to the 14th Century - sounds like fun...

I've never seen it, but have heard that the writing and acting are not quite up to the standards of Dungeons and Dragons, The Movie.

Timeline

I was so disappointed by the movie. Seriously, it was pretty freakin awful. The book, however, is just awesome. In adapting the book to the movie, as what happens much too often, they butchered the story and you really don't get as good a "feel" for it as you do from the book.
So if you like the idea, read the book, scrap the movie.

The book had its good parts (namely the 14th century descriptions), but I found myself hating the characters and the 'Crichton science' was horrible.

As for the movie, bleh.

Loved the book, heven't seen the movie.

Did they keep any of the most interesting imagery? (The old man at the first, the sword dueling and lack of skill thereof, any of the comments that medieval man was not as dumb as we take him for, etc.)

Honestly, Timeline felt like a TNT Original Movie that somehow found its way into theaters. It was bad.
