Too many books!

Oh well, this is certainly a good problem to have, as far as problems go, but there's too much stuff out there I want right now! Heck, this d20 thing just keeps getting more and more momentum, as near as I can tell. The suppliers of d20 material have become, generally, as good as WotC in most respects, and they've got some kick-@$$ products out there.

Just today, I popped into Borders for about half an hour, and flipped through Arcana Unearthed and the Warcraft book -- both of which I now have to own. Unfortunately, I've still got half a dozen books I've bought that I haven't even had time to read! :( Because of that, I've decided it's time I started putting some limits on what I allow myself to buy, so at least until I get caught up, I'm down to one book a month. I've already got more than that in July, and I've got FFG's Sorcery & Steam slated for August.

Problem is, by the time I get caught up, there's more stuff out there I'll want. It's a vicious cycle, I tell ya, and I don't ever see myself getting caught up!

I understand fully. AU looks great, I picked it up for a friend and read most of it. Patrick Younts Quint Sorcerer is out, so I have to get that. B5 and Stargate looked really good as well.

I feel (and share) your pain. I'm still going through the 3.5 books, and reviewing them. Now I need to get Midnight, Book of the Righteous, Unearthed Arcana and I already have two books I'm still waiting to finish.

Good thing I got the new Harry Potter finished, anyhow.

:)

Yeah, I'd say about half the books I own I haven't even opened yet. I just like to have them there and when I'm ready to take a peek, they're there! A lot of times, I just skim through them or read only the parts that interest me. I don't mind overbuying because I hate wanting to look at a book and not having it right here at home! :)

I'm still trying to catch up, too. Unfortunately, because there are SO many books out there, I've narrowed my purchases to just a few companies lines, with the occaisional item from a different company here and there. Right now I buy...

WOTC non-campaign specific books
Mongoose's Quintessential Books
Bastion Press' Books
Fantasy Flight Games Legends & Lairs books (hard and softcover)

Also, various books from Green Ronin (Bastards & Bloodlines is one of my favorite books, and needs a sequel!), Kenzer, S&SS, Guardians of Order, Mystic Eye, and Goodman Games.

Yeah, I do that too. I don't know that I need to read all the way through Monster Manual II or Beasts of Norrath for instance, but I'm still glad I have them. But I do have to finish reading Ghostwalk and Midnight -- I've decided that already.

And I'm also glad I already read the new Harry Potter book -- at least that's one less big tome to tackle! ;)

You can never have too many books; just too little money :D

Luckily, I'm in a pretty good situation financially. Although my wife isn't really fond of my habit of coming home with yet another book (which also means several more nights of me reading it while she watches some insipid reality TV show instead of us talking the whole time.) Lots of reasons to limit my purchases, but financially is not a major one to me, at least at the moment.

Same for me, I've got 3.5's to read and the mm2 to finish off along with the creature collection, warhammer roleplay and on top of all of them I get 2 weekly and monthly magazines. mr book worm is off to read some more now :)
