D&D 5E Too much bickering about 5e, let's get down to what matters.

Is 5e going to be better or worse than other editions

I voted 'better'. It is going to be what I play and from what I've seen and heard it will be better than previous editions overall.

Each edition has evolved over time and offered improvements to the whole. I'm happy to try this new edition that has the best of old and new IMHO.

Based on what I've gathered from zero playtesting and not even reading through the only playtest I've found (I haven't been following RPGs in recent years, much less D&D Next), I'm really excited about 5e.

I'm basing this on the few threads and links I've read around the webs. It looks pretty rules-light and old-school. If the consensus shows it plays through combat faster than 1e I'm going to buy the core books at least.

Sorry if I was unclear. They are only supporting the playstyle where rapid non magical healing like second wind is possible. I call that playstyle martial healing for short. Sorry for the confusion.

No, that was clear.

What is unclear is where you are getting the idea that only martial healing is being supported?

Because that isn't happening at all.

No, now you're misunderstanding him. He's saying yes there is magical healing, but they are only supporting a playstyle where there is both magical and martial healing, and not just magical healing.

To which I say - I think the DMG will have a healing module that will satisfy most of his concerns, and it's a very easy houserule to make anyway.

Ah. Thanks.

To Emerikol:

If that's the case, so what? Just say "In my game there is no such thing as fast non-magical healing."

There problem solved.
